PS3 has better physics than most PCs nowdays (exception goes to the high end PCs), but where the PS3 is lacking is in the memory department, which is a HUGE deal, specifically for MMORPGs. In fact, PS3 has absolutely pitiful memory compared to even a very low end PC. This is why you rarely see MMORPGs come out for consoles, memory effects things like loading textures (hence copy/paste in XIV 1.0, textures also includes the need to load player models, NPCs, unique configurations of gear for all players, etc), inventory, etc. As far as quality of textures and such, you won't notice a huge difference between an average PC and a PS3; however, once you leave that range of "average PC", PCs become dramatically higher quality.
Fun fact: the PS Vita has more memory than the PS3, Vita has 512 MB, PS3 has 256 MB. Most PCs nowadays have 2 GB minimum, you need that just to run the newer versions of Windows. PS3 video card also has only 256 MB of Vram, most PCs nowdays have over 1 GB Vram, while the top end video cards now are reaching the 4 GB mark.
My point is, no a PS3 is not as good as an average PC. It's probably a better value from a cost/power perspective, but by putting a MMORPG on a console you are inevitably limiting your game, but not quite in the graphics quality department. It's the other things that the PS3 cannot keep up with.

Thanks for your good post. I hope what some of you guys say it is true. Since I want this game to be all it can be!
But some of the little fanboys here do not understand. So your comments do support my theory that the memory of the PS3 is VERY limited

It's time....
Japanese developers/gamers need to move to PC years ago...
Those game consoles are something that supposed to be in museums.
I thought about trying to pound some facts into the OP, but really, why bother?
This thread now contains 40% righteous indignation, 30% actual knowledge, 20% trolling, and 10% of OP and various posters who embarrasses other PC gamers by having such piss-poor understanding of modern games and hardwares.

Be constructive and give us some facts as to why you think the PS3 can or cannot limit this game in the future.I thought about trying to pound some facts into the OP, but really, why bother?

I'll save you the effort and trolling by posting this next statement:I thought about trying to pound some facts into the OP, but really, why bother?

A majority of the posts made in this thread have officially labelled is as a "Durr-hurr-hurr" thread. Mods, please lock away this abomination and waste of forum space.
