Anyone ever got turn off to play certain class just because their aesthetic?

Yup..there is a lot of classes I won't play because of that.

WAR cuz I don't like Axes, MCH cuz I hate steampunk..etc.

I hate a book for a weapon (prefer a staff) sigh but I guess I am stuck with a silly book on my Summoner And then to make it worse SCH also has the stupid book so I don't touch it.

Im the same way it took me a while to get use to the book a staff or something else would of been alot cooler

I actually didn't play BRD for a while because I didn't like the "aesthetic" of it; it was too fruity for me, and I prefer my ranged classes to be woodsy archers. Eventually I just sucked it up, leveled it and stuck an ARC-ish glam on, but I can see how it could be off-putting to someone new to the game. I don't play WAR for similar reasons, it might be a little shallow but part of what makes a class fun to play for me is the style and how you look doing it.

And I definitely didn't level SMN because it has the only weapon in the game with a dragon motif

Nah, I tend to play a class because I enjoy how it plays and eventually develop an attachment to how it looks as well after the fact.

99.9% of the time my eyes aren't even on my character during combat so MCH's unrefined abilities didn't bother me much in the first place, though I do make sure to look at Ricochet when I use it because I love how it looks.

WHM has the most annoying sounds. I hate the cure sound effect, also the sound of the ninja vacuum cleaner aeolian edge lol. I guess sounds get to me more than the looks of things. When I saw the art for astrologian though, I knew I had to level it up I loved the ast gear so much! <33

I main bard and i like it overall, if there ks anything i hate about the class is how the quiver clip with my hair (i use long hair) and some other garment that also clip with my hair ugh

White Mage was a bit of a faint turn off on just a few animations for a male character, but other than that I can't especially think of anything.

Inversely, even the aesthetics I really did love didn't have much impact unless the appearance carried over into the gameplay or actual effects of the given abilities, which has rarely been the case. In the end, the actual gameplay has ruled my choice.

I dislike SCH because of how disconnected the lore is compared to how the job actually plays. As far as animations go, I suppose the only job I don't like the animation of would be white mage and Black Mage. It doesn't turn me off so bad that I won't play them at all, but I don't particularly enjoy playing them, especially with how goofy the animations for both look!
