More than likely they just want SE to acknowledge the problem.

More precisely: People want SE to acknowledge their issue as a general problem. And why? Because problems are supposed to be resolved.
Plainly put, they want change, they want to prevent the stupid restriction and if it can't be stopped anymore, they want it gone ASAP.

I don't believe for a moment that people can't "understand" why SE considered the chat ban and want them to explain. The arguments have been laid out multiple times by multiple people by now, hearing them yet again from yet another person isn't going to change the arguments. That's not what it's all about. People want official support for their cause and thus a foothold in the internal debate that caused the chat-ban in the hopes of change.

And that's why I made that mocking comment - I don't believe an answer that doesn't give that support is going to make the people against the chat-ban happy or quell the argument. In fact, people would feel even more ignored, because even though they were heard, their concerns are brushed off. And if they give that support but it amounts to nothing, people cry foul again because "false promises!". No way they can realistically win there.

That said, I'm fairly certain that "eventually", someone from SE will come and say a few words on the matter anyway, for the better or worse. Most likely regurgitating things that have been said already, only with official flavor this time. But considering how niché PvP is, I'd not expect a reply anytime soon. File it as yet another reason why increasing the regular playerbase is crucial.

Again, you are very focused on one specific aspect of my topic, there was a reason I had multiple examples in there. I also did bring up the earrings vs minion topic. There is a double standard, there is censorship, and there is radio silence. None of these things can be argued against when you look a the earring thread. It got as much traction as the minion thread, where even "non-PvP" people agreed, until some mod moved it to the PvP forum.

Sorry that I used the chat-ban as one example because you seem to be very hung up on that one specific point, but the thread blew up with a lot of likes rather quickly. That many likes, views, and replies in such a short amount of time, isn't something that happens on this sub-forum. A thread where most of the outspoken members of the community actually agree upon something is incredibly rare on this forum. Something that anomalous, even in a niche community, should be responded to quickly.
