A11S today decided to clear it via DF after 25 mins I get in, we all say hello, countdown and pull. During the first bit of the pull I notice that I'm constantly at 12kish hp then after that 6k, I'm out of Grit as I usually am since it's Savage so I'm thinking the healer isn't having any issues, I have defensive CDs up to accommodate. We wipe because I died during E.D.D, boss gets loose etc, whatever it happens let's just rebuff get in there and kick Tom Cruise Chasers butt so I can get my weekly clear.

Next pull same thing happens healers aren't healing me at all Sch says he is the off healer that's fine he was shielding and what not so good on him, the whm however....god where do I begin. We wipe another time because I'm just not getting healed at all and no regens either I ask them kindly to keep regen rolling at all times they said "well I'm healing the group with Medica II it seems to be enough" no it's not.

We get in an argument over it because it's really nonsensical, mind you we're not even wiping to mechanics just the healing and a random d/c that happened after the next wipe, I get it's DF but you should know how to keep the main tank up. The timer is down to 15 mins I told em this'll be the last pull and then we should call it, told the healer to regen he responds with "lol I'm the only healer you shouldn't be complaining" seriously? We've been wiping constantly due to lack of heals I didn't get hit by ANY opticals, I'm popping defensive CDs while out of Grit it's so annoying that we had to waste a lockout because this guy couldn't keep a tank up and refused to use Regen in favor of Medica II, hell he spammed it so much that he was 2nd on threat every pull.

I picked the worst week to not be able to schedule raids with my static it's my own fault because real life but sometimes we can't control it I'm just blown away that healers can't keep the tank up because 1 was DPSing and did their job but still let me die, and the other just used Medica II and never used Regen, Asylum, Divine Seal. THIS IS CURRENT CONTENT WHY ARE PEOPLE DOING THIS? Sorry for the rant I'm just at a loss for words, to make things worse this whm had a ilvl 270 weapon so they've completed it multiple times as they had the pants too just wow..

So I fell asleep at 4 AM, got out of bed at 8 AM, then spent the next 12 hours straight working and travelling, with no chance whatsoever to grab a nap during the day. C'est la vie.

Unfortunately, by the time I got home, I still had dailies and roulettes to do. Which wasn't so bad, except for Trials roulette, which kicked me into Bismarck Hard (normal). Which turned out to be one of those runs that leave you staring at the screen in blank shock. Or maybe that's just me, and I don't even have the energy to be shocked anymore.

Well, to start off, on the first attempt, we went through 3 rounds of adds in phase 1, with healers just ignoring the dragonkillers every time, allowing Bismarck to shoot them out. I would've done them as BLM, except that I was a little preoccupied with pumping out as much damage as I could while dodging AoEs.

At some point though, I was just a little too slow in dodging an AoE, got kicked off the island to my death, and gained a front-row seat to the horror show that was taking place. DPS that was slow as molasses in winter, healers standing around just casting Regen on the tanks, tanks that apparently couldn't be bothered to grab adds off DPS, you name it, they had it!

Eventually, one of the tanks joined me in the sweet embrace of cloudy oblivion, and everyone decided to follow it up. The fact that they couldn't even die in sync really sums up the whole situation.

So we regrouped, gaining 10% Echo. Keep this in mind, because it's important.

The tanks made a half-hearted attempt at explaining the dragonkillers, and I'm guessing one of the healers was new, along with one of the DPS. Not that any of them ever mentioned anything about being new, or not knowing the mechanics. That would be too easy.

Anyway, this attempt at explaining the mechanics fell through, mostly because the newbies couldn't be bothered to even respond to it. The non-newbie healer ran forth and pulled, and so begins Round 2.

While I, as BLM, tanked the adds, one of the actual tanks and the healer who pulled devolved into an argument of name-calling and swearing in chat. We managed to get Bismarck reeled in, at least.

3 times. The DRG used LB on the Chitin Carapace. The DPS still wasn't fast enough to kill it with 3 attempts. With 10% Echo. By this point, my face was firmly frozen into a thousand-yard-stare.

Eventually we all transitioned into a nice little cutscene showing Bismarck eating us, which was the first time I'd ever seen that cutscene, and respawned to 20% Echo.

I don't know what happened after that, because one of the tanks then ditched, and I seized the chance to skedaddle without penalty.

    Well, c'est la vie.

To be honest, that's a pretty weak excuse. If nobody's doing the dragonkillers, *someone* should man up and do it. The adds are irrelevant in the grand scheme of the fight after all. Sitting there pew pewing is daft if you understand what isn't (but should) be happening, if it's in your power to fix that.

As a warrior, I have frequently tanked the adds, hit the generator, and gotten a dragon killer one after the other in both normal and Extreme Bismarck.

Someone's gotta do it. If I notice no one else is, that person is me.

We don't say "man up" we say "tank up."

I had a real nice run of A12N the other day where the Tankbuster did next to no damage to me at all thanks to an AST in Noct who was very timely with their barriers.
    It was nice.

Reminds me of how I had 9 vote abandons on normal Bismark before I got my clear for the story. The fight had been out for nearly 4 months by the time I got to it too. I learned to always take a dragonkiller no matter what else is going on after abandon #2.

Yeah, same, I even went The Mystical Sprinting Dragoon because pulling it until at least half a year after HW release on Trial Roul on Chaos datacentre was basically a death spell even with people who had already cleared it, and I, a measly melee dps, did the dragonkillers. Both of them. My poor, innocent TP.

I've noticed a trend in this thread by some of the frequent posters to point blame at everyone except themselves. I think some of these people should really take a look at their own play before pointing the fingers at others.

I mess up all the time when I run things on Scholar. I ran the Aery recently and had to vote abandon because I couldn't keep the tank and Estinien alive while also taking out the Sable Price thing on Nidhogg and we ended up having to abandon. I am very new to healing and the Tank kept taking Nidhogg too far away from Esti. But I'd ran that dungeon before on DPS, the other party members were new and I really let them down by choking when things started going downhill again.

I think we all have stories like that. Mine just makes me sad when I think back on it though. I can do my best to improve but it won't fix things that already happened or help the people I disappointed then.

It's a venting thread. I think what you are looking for may be in one of the confessions threads. Did you come to point fingers or did you have something to contribute?
