i would say that its unfair that the people of denmark had to preorder ffxv by store to get the items while germany just have to spend 20 euro on a random gamestop thing. I would be outraged was it not for the unbelievably unfair treatment the UK got.
(by saying had im aware it said at the time "200 kr, about 20 euro, for selected items. those items were preordering ffxv or preordering ffxv. I tried several stores and got the same answer. no bloody way im paying double the advertized amount for a game i cant play)
Well at least I can say that the Gamestop campaign in Germany is not running that smoothly.Depending on who you have in the shop you will get different kind of reaction. Some even had to decide if they want the FF15 bonus items or the FF14 bonus items..Online codes should be sent out every Tuesday, yet yesterday on Tuesday they had technical problems..now its Wednesday evening and not everyone of the week has their code (I also dont have mine V_V).
Really all I can say is: Please SE choose your campaign partners a little better. So many mistakes in these different campaigns..
@Enur: Well UK truly was horrible, but at least they got two while other countries waited for theirs and got disappointed.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
It is smooth atleast the local stores I went into different shops and got many codes only 1 shop told me its for games only but after telling them to check it again they gave the code for any product.Well at least I can say that the Gamestop campaign in Germany is not running that smoothly.Depending on who you have in the shop you will get different kind of reaction. Is it just slight technical problem and they will send the code later? Or the code is gone and we got nothing?Well at least I can say that the Gamestop campaign in Germany is not running that smoothly.Depending on who you have in the shop you will get different kind of reaction. Yeah and other people had problems in the locals stores. ^^; And the online situation was not really smooth from the very beginning. I mean they did not know that the codes come from buying online too and only thanks to SE we could even get them there and yet even though we have to wait till its Tuesday each week to get the code per mail they still managed to have problems and only send them out on Wednesday (without any note on their website) and still not everyone got the code. That does not mean that everything went bad for everyone but it does not feel smooth for me.
@Theodric: Oh sorry forgot that x_x. Then why did they even offer the second one? Really the whole situation and all the decisions that were made really confuse me.
Well in the German forum one from the FF14 team said, that if we did not get a code till now we should contact support. (But only if you ordered before Tuesday, if you ordered afterwards you need to wait till Tuesday next week) So theoretically we should already have our codes, if everything went alright. But I fear that since the online part was not planned by Gamestop, the codes are not sent completely automatic..so if someone is behind this than there will never be a 100% safety that they wont forget someone..so if you don't have your code till tomorrow I think it would be the best to contact support too.

Well I did not say that everyone had a problem but that it was not really smooth for everyone, be it store or online (especially online..)
Why did some people had to mention that they want the code if they had the right amount of money on their receipt? I mean this is a promotion campaign for SE to get new players. But if you have to ask if you get the code than this will mostly be something only FF14 players will get. It might be that most people got their code after arguing with the employees but for me this is not smooth. Smooth is going into the store, buy something for the amount of money and get the code without having to ask for it. Even if this happens only in some stores, this is still negative for Gamestop, since they seemingly are not able to tell every store in the country how the campaign goes.
I am also quite sure that the person that only got the FF14 code and not the FF15 one, because they had to decide between them, argued with the employees about it.
Like I said, I dont say that everyone had a bad experience and maybe those bad ones are really a small number but seeing how they first did not even know that the campaign is also online, then reading about the negative experiences in the forum and having a bad one myself..well I am not really that happy about this promotion..and even though I finally got my code after contacting both supports I will probably not order something from Gamestop again..

They give the codes to only ppl who are interested in the game since ppl who don't have any use for it would just sell it anyways etc. at least that's what's the guy from game stop said. I dont see a problem with saying u want the code tbh most ppl in Germany don't even care about receipts anyways and won't take the receipt lol. FFXIV isn't that popular and so it would be a waste of time telling every time about the code. From all local stores I was even multiple times in the same one they told me I was the only one who ever cared about the promotion. Can't speak for online purchase but why not just go to local store ppl there are way nicer.
