Managing Darkside is something you'll just need to get used to if you want to play the class properly.

It takes some practise, but you'll find out how much you can and cannot get away with, and how much of a safety net you get from Blood Price/Blood Weapon in terms of extra mana recovery. Eschewing Darkside completely is shooting yourself in the foot purely out of spite. IE it's very silly.

So I just did brayflax in a roulette I did it yesterday also I tried the ,darkside and also blood weapon more this time and keep up darkside more and I did lose hate once and the problem I hated was I felt like a pali all of a sudden with no flash, I had no mana to reuse unleash while I used provoke it could be sitiuations when thats on cooldown, but tbh the time fram was still exactly the same when i did it in grit the whole time yesterday. Literally no difference in time.

I'm not sure why you're dropping grit to use darkside. They can be used at the same time.

And if you do need extra MP for whatever reason, you always have this bad boy:



Syphon Strike! It cures yo' ills, if yo' ills are "lacking MP". I'm definitely sounding like a broken record at this point, but seriously - an action that restores your MP is your friend as a DRK. If you really need to spam Unleash, then you're going to also need to be best buddies with the Hard Slash into Syphon Strike combo. Aggro won't be a problem, since you're spamming Unleash anyways.

And you're trying to use endgame rotations before you even have your skills From their rotations? Whats wrong with you! Get to 50 at least before trying to get experimental. You don't even have access to your on damage MP regen skill in BRayflox. Come on now

Ha well I only been playin the class about two days now so I guess its just a, change from what I was playing with pali and Ive switched it around using darkside more my only thing is now Im having trouble gettin grit to turn off when I need to is there away to fix tihs

This might sound harsh, and I'm probably just echoing other posts, but it's really this simple: If you don't like Darkside, you should not play Dark Knight. Managing your MP around Darkside/Dark Arts is the primary mechanic of the job, and playing without it is like playing NIN without using Mudras or SCH/SMN with no pet. You're not only losing out on a significant amount of damage and several of your abilities, as you get higher in level you're also missing mitigation and self healing from Dark Arts bonus effects. There's more to tanking than just holding threat, and you would be performing every other aspect of the role more poorly than you need to. Why not play a job you like the mechanics of instead?

Right now? Don't turn Grit off.

If you absolutely, positively, must turn Grit off (though I'm not sure why you would need, sub-45, especially if you're using Syphon Strike "a lot" and aren't pushing for DPS), then make sure you turn it off and hit Shadowskin.
