Provoke and taunt, as well as cover, actually worked well when they would use it....but it took me dying 4 times before they even knew the moves existed....

Odds are if you are leveling gladiator you won't even have taunt anyway because that requires leveling pug. From what I seen even if you use Provoke it is so weak that often the mob will continue to hit whoever has the most hate usually the healer because of broken enmity mechanics.

Well, the GLA's job is to tank...if curing acquires more hate than voke, Gla's should cure to tank....instead, this guy equips DD gear and a row full of damage enhancing skills....and doesn't know how to tank >.>

There in lies another problem with FFXIV. In order to tank you say you need cure? That requires leveling a mage class. A tank class should really be self sufficient and not need any abilities from other classes to do the role that it is intended to do. A lot of people only have gladiator leveled and never touched anything else. If your just starting out theres a good chance of that happening its your first class to level. You won't tank because provoke doesn't do much in the way of hate generation so really your just a bad dps class with a 1h sword.

Something SE really should fix classes should be able to stand on their own.

So in otherwords, you're telling us the armory system is working as intended?
