The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

I suspect that every single one of those will be in the PvP Auto-translate library if not have its own default command.

The 15 icons shown with the announcement seem to be:

Row 1: Attack Tank/Healer/DpS
Row 2: Target/Focus Tank/Healer/DpS
Row 3: Bind Tank/Healer/DpS
Row 4: Target/Focus Box, Move Message, Thumbs Up Message
Row 5: Target/Focus Medals, Cheer fight, Beckon Message

I am against this change.

Communication in the feast is extremely important!
Things like alerting the tank that medals dropped
As a healer asking Party members to for a purify when a White Mage or Black Mage sleeps you.
Alerting your team when you are about to die as a healer, or when your low MP.
etc.

Also, They want more new players to get active in PVP and learn how to feast etc. Well this is going to completely alienate new players that are trying to learn, becuase older players are no longer going to be able to communicate or offer strategy advise etc.

But that is wrong... they may be removing the ability to type out messages in chat, but they are adding ways to send Auto-Translated messages that will share that information.

I'm not sure how you can say she is wrong when no information has been given as to what extent we will be able to communicate. If we are, in fact, ONLY able to use the pre-made macros which SE will provide for us, I can GUARANTEE you that there will be a vast amount of key commands/phrases missing. SE does not understand their own PvP in the slightest, so we can not expect them to create communication macros for things like purifying, box control, LB coordination, full swing debuffs, etc.

The messages will be tied to buttons that you will be able to put into your hotbar, basically the ones you listed from rows 1 to 5 in the live letter translation.

I highly doubt we will be getting more messages than the ones you have listed, and if we do they will be later on in future patches.

I don't know how players using controllers going to deal with adding more macros. Its hard enough with all the pvp abilities.

Thats my biggest concern. :/

Controller players have enough of disadvange already for 3.0+PvP skill bloating, thank you SE.

But at least I'll not see 'healer, get a cancer' anymore.

This is actually very important for PvP as communication is the essential for MMORPG type of game. Take an example of League of Legends and DotA 2. With the chat restriction, it will hinder a lot of important things.

And to add this on my chips, I played on Elemental server where 90% of player based are from Japan, I had fun talking with them with the helps of google translate and i actually made friend with them through Feast, chatting through twitter. They provides a lot of insight and knowledge which allow me to improve on my PvP.

Tbh you won't communicate much in solo ranked anyways. Since this is "battle only" you can probably still make a plan before gates open then it's just about marking and common sense. Who picks up medals etc. don't need to be called out if ppl have a function brain etc + we got new commands overall don't hate unless u see it yourself. Dunno why ppl get upset if u type smth it's time in there u don't do anything tbh if you have to type smth in chat it's because of bad player. Saw ppl spamming macro to go back for like 30times in a row which isn't helpful at all.
