No, I'm pretty sure it's the FFXI purists that are freaking out about "WOW clones".Makes me laugh when butthurt WoW fanboys say FFXIV is copying WoW or becoming a clone, FFXI was around before WoW and had alot of the features which FFXIV will be getting.
Oh and on another note about the "add-ons" if SE didn't want people to see FFXI's Alliance/party TP etc. they wouldnt send that infomation to the damn client.
I just have to comment about the "destroying community" with the dungeon finder...
Just because now, we teleport directly to the dungeon, rather than having to run there with the group that we spent hours trying to get together, means that everyone using the dungeon finder sits on their butts for 20 minutes doing absolutely nothing in the main cities while waiting for the queue to pop.
Sorry bud that's not how it works. Whenever I queued up I'd actually y'know, do something in game. I'd go out questing, farming, rep grinding... whatever. There was never a time that I just sat there and did nothing. So while you're in the queue, you can still have these random encounters that seem oh-so-important to you.
What community? There isn't one unless you are in a Linkshell.I just have to comment about the "destroying community" with the dungeon finder...

I find it funny that you are so incredibly concerned over the fact that a chocobo will be able to fight alongside its master, as if that is going to be a crippling blow to the Beastmaster or Summoner classes because "everyone can have a pet".
You do realize that everyone in FFXI could technically have a pet by going /BST or /SMN or /PUP, right? The issue being, of course, that their pets are infinitely inferior to pets controlled by the class proper. Do you honestly think that a chocobo is going to be able to outclass any one of the myriad of things a Beastmaster could bring to the fight? Or the primals a Summoner could bring out?
Is there any reason that you are assuming that anyone that can assign a Summon to their action bar is going to have access to the full range of abilities that summon could bring to bear? I'd bet that the Summon Abilities themselves may be free in terms of AP cost, but you need to have learned abilities for the Primals to use. For instance: It would cost 0 AP to set Ifrit into your action bar, but 3 AP to set "Double Punch" or 4 AP to set "Inferno", and that Inferno would be class restricted in the same way that Ancient Magic is restricted to Conjurers, or Bloodletter is restricted to Archers. Perhaps even the Primal summons are class restricted themselves. Or maybe the AP cost is more severe for non-Summoners to use them?
You've got to step back and use your head. You can't take a statement released in a slide presentation and twist it so far out of proportion. Since Yoshi-P took over, steps have been taken to create more class uniqueness by restricting more powerful abilities to specific classes. They aren't about to make it so that every axe-swinging Marauder can be a full force Summoner as well, considering the changes they've already made.
Really, your making much ado about nothing. You make it sound like this random person's chocobo is going to become the make or break factor in a major confrontation. More likely, big bad monster is going to AoE smack the chocobo for a ton of damage and it's going to run the hell away like every other chocobo-related encounter that has ever occurred in any FF game to date.
Only one thing that made me frown on the version 2.0...
"Level Progression will be done through quest instead of EXP" <- WTF!!?
edit: i understand its for the adv jobs but.. Uldah > Grid > uldah > Grid > Uldah > Grid isnt the way to level up.

Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
No matter what developers announce, there will ALWAYS be the ragequiters, whiners, and QQers.
I read that being akin to "genkai" in FFXI.. need to complete a quest to advance beyond a certain level. Could be wrong, though.
"It looks like WoW" has to be the dumbest thing I've read about V2 so far.
Sure, the interface looks a little bit more like WoW, I'll give you that, but everything else is looking more Final Fantasy than ever.
