Honestly, I think the bottomline that folks need to accept is that not everything is going to go how they want it to. If a tank shows up that wants to slow pull reasonably, let them. Reasons, in most cases, don't even need to be shared. Don't be a douche about it by complaining, bad mouthing, or forcing them to conform "rudely" (e.g. pulling more mobs ahead of them). People that actually count the handful of times they'd encounter slow pulls, out of the hundreds/thousands of "normal" pull dungeons they do as something significantly hurtful to their experience, need to grow up.So you saying we should always expect someone in a group with ADHD? Its kinda to much to expect in every group we enter to think someone might have ADHD or is disabled. Either you say it by yourself and people bring up enough understanding and patient or they dont. Your way of thinking and putting every player in the same pot, is rude.
I'll just tank the whole dungeon then. Don't need a tank wasting 3 other people's time.I always pull one pack per time.
If I see a DPS pull more on their own, they will also be tanking that pack on their own.
If my healer get's aggro because of it, you're in a lot of trouble, cause I will save my healer, but I sure as hell will boot you from my party.
If you want me to pull more, you can ask, nicely.
And if the healer is okay with it then I will pull faster or larger groups.
But speedruns?
Not on my watch.
Honestly, the number of people willing to be total asshats in this thread is astounding.
No wonder no one wants to tank.
Yes.In a 15 minute run of current Ex dungeons, trash killing takes what, 4-5 minutes total with big pulls? The rest of your time is spent moving through the dungeon and doing boss fights. It's not going to add 5 minutes to the run doing small pulls with the same group; everyone is comparing good group doing big pulls with bad group doing small pulls.
3 to 5 big pulls from start to end. 40 to 60 seconds per pack. So yes, 4 to 5 minutes of actual fighting.
With single pulls, you're looking at 8 to 9 pulls. Three mobs in each pull, and 10-15 seconds to kill a mob. Slightly faster if you ae the three-packs instead of single-target burns. About 5 to 6 minutes of fighting.
Oooh, shiney...
I don't know why people are trying to argue against big pulls when it's mathematically and logically obvious that doing an AOE to multiple targets would exceed the damage threshhold of a 1vs 1 at level 60.
The only problem is each role not knowing their role but if that occurs, the dungeon is a flop anyway and would take longer regardless.

Ofcourse, you are right with that. But think about people who have only a limited time to play per day. Work, school, studies, family, friends.. Maybe having an appointment was the wrong word there, but yet - you have to accept people who want to take their time by doing small groups, BUT also people who would like to do a speed run. Just bringing 1 side sympathy won't solve anything.
People like that are being asshats cuz they would rather coerce the tank into doing what they want than taking a 30min penalty for quitting.
Realistically speaking, players will rarely meet a slow-pulling tank for expert out of all the runs they've already accrued. As I said before, rather than griefing the tank for going at his slow pace, I would rather leave and use that half hour to complete some other objective.
I just looked at our 2 tank 2 dps run from xelphatol week 1. Only small pulls, and it took us 18 minutes to get to last boss with 1 death on the way. Small pulls do slow you down, but not by much.
You're are absolutely right! You don't have to mass pull, because in the end you are the only one that can make that call. ---------- IMHO: It's the laziest thing you could possibly do given how much HP,CDs,and iLv. we have. Part of being a tank is understanding party composition, and utilizing their kit to our advantage. We aren't (well im not) telling you to pull the entire level, but if you got a BLM and SMN that have a good rotation why not pull a lil exrtra?
