A little research should have clued you in. Just saying. It was fairly widespread on various websites what condition Beta was in, and it would have only taken a day after release to prove it.
But people were still willing to pay, and now that they haven't had to for so long they think that it is ok to continue not paying. What everyone doesn't realize is that paying for an MMO is only about 50 cents to play per day and even less if they give the 1 year deals. They also don't realize is that you can't get brand new servers and content without having SE funded in order to perform these actions. SE said they have 250 people working on this game. Now where does their salary come from? A money tree?

So you propose WE pay the development costs? Get a clue, the high ups can eat the cost as far as I'm concerned. They're the ones that green lighted this mess of a game last sept. I know, I know if Wada doesn't bring home a clean 4 mil this year his wife might leave him, better send in my 13 bucks.But people were still willing to pay, and now that they haven't had to for so long they think that it is ok to continue not paying. I don't like the idea of having to pay before we see how the game will be when they change, everything.
I more than likely will not pay or invest in "hope and change".
I barely play today, when it's free. SE shouldn't charge until players, (especially CE pre-order buyers like myself) can see for ourselves what 2.0 will be like. What if we spend money, only to be disappointed again?
BTW, where's my rites of passage SE? You want me to pay?
Send me my rites like I ordered in the CE, then we'll talk.
Whatever, Ive played and liked this game (with the exception of one month around Feb I think) since beta (CB3). So yes I will paying my monthly sub, hell I payed for 6 months of crysta before they even announced FTP, so I got 6 months already bought and paid for.
<cool FFXIV image here>
Just saying,..
I'll let you all beta test it again for more $$$. Upload the changes to Grid on Youtube, and let me watch before I pay.
{Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.}
The only reason I am staying, is because I see potential in the game and want to see that potential come to fruition. If that means throwing a $180 donation their way (as I don't really intend to play the game until 2.0) to help them achieve that goal, so be it.
I have had faith that the developers could steer the game in the right direction after they started listening to the community and started openly communicating with us.
I for one will be staying and paying, I am currently in university so dont get a massive amount of time to play anymore but I will be staying here as I trust SE, Yoshi P and the plans they have in place.
Fair enough the game was a mess on release but since then they have improved so much and as far as i can see we have not been let down on any promise of content so far.
We cant expect to play this game for free forever and it is only £8.99 a month, hardly a mortage...
