Anything BUT viera race, PLZ show your support

I don't believe there are actually any LORE REASONS to have a new race. This is a heavily-story based game, unlike most other MMO's out there. That means that having a Level 1 of some new race has to make some kind of sense. Having some new race that originated on one of the other continents move in makes some sense, as long as you actually have members of that race running around the game world BEFORE they become playable characters.

Having some new race suddenly show up in 4.x or 5.x story, when a level 1 never encounters anyone of that race, does not fit this bill. Unfortunately, that's the route they chose to take with Au Ra, which showed up at some point after 2.0 but as soon as Yugiri's race was revealed, before Au Ra even had time to move into Eorzea, you could make one. It made no sense, and it would make no sense for that to be repeated.

That said, what is the fascination people have with animal ears and tails? Or with being "cute"? "Cute" implies youth, in a pretty-but-too-young-to-be-beautiful sense. Can we not get "beautiful" instead of "cute" sometime? I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but when the devs go for "cute" that's ALL you can get from it.

And I'm sorry, but anyone young enough to still be, or still be called, "cute" is not old enough to go out and slay monsters for their level 1 class quest. Or would parents here trust, or have trusted, their children at 5 or 6 years old with deadly weapons and no adult supervision?

I'd actually disagree, predominantly due to the setting the game takes place in. Considering the styling of the world, as well as how they speak, I was under the impression the game takes place in a relatively medieval time period. During that time period, it was pretty common for people to start their combat training young... very young. IIRC, even the roman's started swordsmanship training at 7/8 years of age, so I don't really see why kids can't learn in FFXIV.

In today's times, standards, and societal views sure. However we're in the reality of a world where adulthood begins at the age of sixteen for some of its citizenry, therefore military training and other greater responsibilities would begin at a younger age as well. You're over exaggerating a bit in using ages five and six, but in the reality in which XIV's story takes place, it certainly starts at a younger age.

I would love to have Vieras just as less human more animal, you know covered in short fur, bunny feet, and bunnyish facial features to make their faces unique also if they go the ff12 route Viera would be some of the taller females in ff14

I mean thats like saying yeah you know The Witcher is produced in Poland-Eastern Europe they must be religious zealots insparations because this appreantly " a big part of ther culture".


Also im like pretty sure that when i watch takeshi kitano movies i dont find "anime" in them because he is from japan

She looks like Midna almost.....I think I'm regretting getting SAO: Hollow Realization over that.....maybe not because pokemon mechanics..ehh... This year sucked X(

I don't want a new race period. This is not a drastic race driven game like World of Warcraft or Aeon (RIP). Race does play a purposes in FF14, but it does not drive it like other MMORPG's. It would just be a waste of resources that can be put into other things.
