    How to pay for FFXIV

Its going to be a tough road ahead. While some people sit in the lap of luxury, not all of us have that comfort. So, with that said, I have a few ways you can save the exorbitant price of $15 a month. With the tough economy still lingering, finding an hour or two's wage each month will be tough, but I can help.

You could: Skip the 2nd coffee of the morning once a week.
You could: Buy single-ply TP instead of double.
You could: Use 1 Alieve instead of 2 Asprin
You could: Eat one twix bar, and save the other for later.
You could: Cancel your redtube premier subscription.
You could: Put the change from your pocket at the end of the day into a jar and roll it once a month.
You could: Put regular gas in your SUV
You could: Turn off your $300 Halloween lights decoration 3 hours before dawn.
You could: Quit whining over a whopping $15.

I will personally buy 2 less sodas a week.

I hope these have helped. I sure as heck couldn't have survived this months rent if I hadn't taken them to heart.

In short; Why is everyone in an uproar over $15 a month? I really don't understand. If you don't think the game is worth it, don't pay it.

They should have saved that money during this free period. It's funny that most complainers seem to think they are shackled to this game and act like they have no option to pay subscription fees whether they like the game itself or not. If you don't enjoy the game then don't pay it.

It's not the amount, it's the principle. They are asking you to pay for a game they themselves are unwilling to say is complete, to fund development costs and cover mistakes that they should be paying for.

They gave us a year for free.

Seems to me that they have paid for it.

Is the game's rebirth coming in November/December? No? Then why pay?

If you want to play, then pay. Otherwise just come back when 2.0 goes live with it's free trial.

The new team has been hard at work to turn this game around, all while letting us continue a game that, let's face it, is still fun to play in spite of its flaws (And if it's not fun... why are you playing?). They're putting out more changes than most other online games out there, and for the past year this has all been FOR FREE.

We are being given the chance to play in an online game that truly embraces what an online game can be by letting us live in a changing world, one in which we are the players in a grander stage, and unlike some epic quest in other MMOs, this won't be something you can do again and again, something that will always be a matter of the present. It will be something that was most definitely "in the past", adding history to the game. How many games out there can boast that its players can be part of a living history, to be there as events unfold and be part of a living, breathing narrative? This is a unique aspect of gaming, and one I eagerly anticipate being a part of. I dunno, somehow I feel that's worth $15 a month.

Will people please stop bitching about the payments starting up, guess what? It's a game company and without money THERE IS NO GAME.

You've had 1 year free to play the game, and now SE has 2 choices:

1: Startup payments and fully develop FFXIV into FFXIV 2.0
2: Barely update FFXIV untill they run out of money or no longer wish to blow money away.

I am personally happy to pay because they have done a great job at turning things around so far, FFXIV was in development for about 6 years, yoshi and his team are redesigning the entire thing in 1.5 - 2 years.
