What will make the system more accessible is something like multiple glamouring on the gear that is more linked to the job than to the gear. On that the devs should spend time, not on the prism.
That depends on what removing prisms is replaced with, for how accessible. I think the system should not be a consumable item, and I definitely don't think it should be locked behind crafting.

Basically, a merged system of Wildstar and WoW would be perfect. Unlocked glamours, costumes applied to character not armor, apply at an NPC.

I don't see the issue of it being a crafted item, since they're relatively easy to just quicksynth. I do think the books should be unlockable at the recipe level of the prisms, which would be level 30.

A good idea would be turning the prisms into currency, similar to how transmutation charges work in GW2. You get the transmutation charge (or in this case, a specific prism), and use it to add it to your currency tab. That way, it'd be easy to stock up on prisms without them taking up inventory space.

I also don't think costumes applying to character would work in XIV, due to the ability to swap between jobs (unlike Wildstar or WoW), costumes applying to job would be better.

I find it sad that with so many 'cosmetic' systems around to take as models SE decided on what I think it the worst I've seen, hell, even FFXI is better!

Books? It's not about how easy it is with crafting, it's just an unnecessary inconvenience. It works, but the systems in all of FFXIV's competitors do not require it and they are better experiences.

You can simply have the costumes applying to gearsets. This was my intention, but used the term character due to defining it how it's done specifically in Wildstar.

I think your currency wallet idea is pretty good, but that idea needs to be applied to much more than prisms (all the various tokens we keep collecting, for example).

Considering each piece I equip is glamoured, you're proposing to charge me 100K Gil everytime I upgrade my jobs equipment. No thnx, I like saving my money.

I didnt even name a price actually so I dono what ur refering to and thats how much prism are is 2 to 4 k its just takin the prism out of the mix so what are u talkin about u can do it for free , other than u just craft them urself. I can also craft them myself id rather not craft them and just use something i always have witch is gil so i dont have to go back everytime i wana glam

How would it be simpler? Basing this assumption from what's been implemented in game already (ie materia melders) you'd have to run over to an NPC to get glamoured up. Sorry but that's sounds like more of an inconvenience than buying from MB/crafting your own.

And where is the gil going to? Who is performing the glamour changes for you?

And I don't need to run to a MB to get prisms when I can easily craft my own. The dungeons practically give you the base ones for free and you can buy them in more donuts.
