There are lots of other little referrences to games that most others don't even notice, but are still here in FFXIV. Take the dreadnought from FFXIII- one of Square Enix's newer games. You first saw them in Turn 4.

Honestly, FFXIV is becoming more and more of a "HUB" for other FF titles to leave their marks within this world. I'm excited to see what permanent addition FFXV will sneak into this game. Even if it's something like a name (IE: Valefor in LotA- looks nothing like Valefor from FFX).

Here's a bit of interesting trivia
The valefor in LoTA is actually a recycled dragon from Final Fantasy XI.
The Valefor you see in LoTA is not based on Final Fantasy X's valefor but rather the one from Final Fantasy III.

I don't think any monsters in Crystal Tower with the exception of bosses looked like their FFIII counterparts. Most of the enemies in the raid dungeon were pulled from XI and given their names from FFIII.

Don't know why that is but you've had until like 3.5 to get used to what this game does and how it's pretty much a MMO literred with fan service for FF fans and I don't think Yoshida is going to stop with the fanservice because a few WoW refugees chose to come and play a fanservice game intended for a specific audience.

I am completely fine with the fanservice in the game, in terms of content like Ozma/Ramuh etc. What I don't want is an event that lasts two weeks to celebrate the launch of another game with timed exclusive glamours. I feel you're misunderstanding my issue here.

As an aside, I am not a 'WoW refugee', and the term itself is unwelcoming to those that are.

I am not opposed to a new permanent addition inspired by FFXV being added. My issue is a cross over event.

Ramuh has always been a Final Fantasy staple, not really fan service. He's been around since III onwards.
That said the Japanese always do cross over events with MMO's PSO2 does it and people love it and I welcome it in XIV. They even made Lightning's appearence in this game canon to LR so the devs know what they're doing when they make these events happen and I'm in full support of a Final Fantasy XV event.

The whole universe of Final Fantasy is connected by the void so anything can happen. No Final Fantasy world will ever be its own thing, not when Gilgamesh from V can just pop in and out of universes, he's pretty much a cross over character too. It helps to understand the franchise a bit more before complaining just saying, I'm not even trying to be rude, I got nothing against yah or anyone here, just clearing things up.

I appreciate the extra information. I'm pretty aware of what you are saying, though. What I am saying, is that I dislike the cross over events (i.e. Lightning Returns) and like the "staples" (i.e. Ramuh). The original topic asked what everyone wants in the FFXV event, and I said, I don't want an event. That's just my simple response to the question. It makes the game feel cheap and lack its own identity, imo.

I do like the events that celebrate real world, or made up, holidays though. Heavensturn, Valentione, Hatching Tide, All Saints and Starlight are all fine. I find "Little Ladies Day" to be an odd event. I do like that there are some more unique ones to the FFXIV world; such as, The Rising and Moonfire Faire. I do not like all of the special events: Yokai, Dragon Quest, FFXI and Lightning Returns. Personally, I'd appreciate more seasonal events that are unique to the FFXIV world, and less cross-over events.
