I don't think such a mode would fly to be honest. Maybe the world first groups would do it - after all, there's no reason to rush the tier either and people still do it - but that aside, I don't see it being worth the effort.
It doesn't really add anything, you're better off just making an additional dungeon with no rewards - at least people would run that thing once for the lulz before turning their back on it.

This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

Why repost this here? Because you didn't find the thrashing you received in that topic or the logical counter-points people provided fit your agenda?

    Why do people raid?

Yea, some people raid for the rewards. They raid for the status. There are also some people who raid purely for the challenge regardless of how torturous it is. Others raid for the fun. And, some people will raid for the social element and just to hang out with friends.

    What goals do people have?

Some people are happy with just clearing. Some people want to really push themselves and see their names atop fflogs. Some people are fine clearing content before the next content patch. Others want to clear it as early as possible. Some people rigorously research the content and their roles. Others want to go in blind and learn through raiding.

At the end of the day, people raid for different reasons, have different approaches, and have different goals. If you want raid content to be popular, it needs to allow for people with different motivations, methods, and goals to succeed on the same team. Extremely difficult content requires everyone to be on the same page so it doesn't allow for that. Gordias was a perfect example of this and a lot of drama and stress was the result of differing opinions within a singular group. Some thought the A3S wall was too high. Some thought the rewards were not worth it. Some still wanted the challenge. A lot of groups split because of that.

In games with a larger pool of players, an extreme difficulty tier with no rewards might make sense. With more players, it's more likely you can build a team of people with the same goals and motivations. In this game and on most servers, you will struggle to find 8 people with the attitude, aptitude, and chemistry to challenge said content. That's exactly why raiders flocked to Gilgamesh (NA), Ragnarok (EU), and Chocobo (JP).

So this content will inherently not work and that has nothing to do with raiders in this game. The hardest content should be challenging, fun, and rewarding in a variety of ways in order to ensure that it can rally together people with different motivations and goals to pursue a singular experience. End of discussion.

Maybe a dyeable version of the 270 Alex gear. With same stats and everything from Savage, the only difference is the option to dye the gear.

I believe if the achievement had only a title as a reward, then I would do it. (SCOB Savage had titles)
Since it will be something rare that not many people will have. I hope you cannot carry people through it (At least for now).

What is the point in getting the best gear in game and not use it in something?

This raid tier is easy due to a few reasons, one being SE has so many different combinations of gear that can be combined to go into Creator Savage, you can have things out of tomes, crafted gear set, and the PotD weapon and be able to run through at least A9S and A10S. Two, people have gotten the basic idea of nearly every fight down before going into it, aggro boss, turn it around, dance through mechanics, and grab adds. Even in fights that can't have the boss move, it still follows almost the same pattern.

Fundamentally speaking there is really no difference between HM and Savage, outside of a few alterations to mechanics and the speed at which they happen. And within my experience within this community there has to be a decent reward for doing content, otherwise it won't be played.

Now maybe if this community had the option to make community challenges and community content, then something offering no reward might be a success, since it's not official content, but again, that's asking a lot out of this community.

Yes. Once. And then never touch it again. And it would be dead wasted content like everything else that does not offer proper reward, hardcore or not.

    Also, everything this person said:

Hardcore raiders will leap into this without a second thought. Even midcore might give it a while since current Savage has boosted a lot of people's confidence. You're also mistaken. If they do an Extreme Savage, there will be titles and achievements for it. The devs only mentioned not rewarding gear.

You do know that it was initially cleared in sub-minimal ilvl groups?

We just need more raids per tier
