I wonder how much better of an outcome this thread could of had if someone else made it, since some people have a negative bias towards me here.

I'm gonna quote you word for word from another thread and change "dancer" to "viera"

It's not bias...you just get back what you give out and some people just didn't want Viera just like you don't want Dancer. You are just on the other side of the argument this time; think about that for a minute.

Any wonder why a more bestial race seems so unlikely? While all have the right to voice their opinion, people seem to forget where they are. One wouldn't buy tickets to a rock concert and complain not enough Chopan was featured. There are many games that cater to more monstrous variants of playable races as an option for those that wish it, this however is not those games. Many long time FF fans enjoy that very aspect about the series.

It is a complete shame that the female AuRa didn't adhere to the concept art (particularly the Xaela), as it would have have added a much needed mature, fierce, powerful, female option along side Elezen, Highlander, and Roegadyn females.

While Viera is not my definition of fierce, the fact that have been portrayed as elegant, mature/ serious, and relentless in past FF, just feels like a missed opportunity for 4.0. I will support their inclusion in FFXIV, they have been asked for by the community since FFXI, many of those same players are here asking for the option even now after nearly a decade.

I agree with it. Hydalen is not a nice place, some of the storylines are far darker than many other games will dare to delve into (see The Bear and the young'uns' care, The DRK quest line 30-50, For all the nights to come, ect...) However the visual representation & overall world view/ setting, strike a balance (for me) that i don't find in other mmorpg's. Just watch the scenes found in A knights calling... that wouldn't look or feel right with a character that looked like a FFXII Seeq.

Viera Should Of Happened

It was the most polled, there are hundreds of threads on it, and if not thousands of feedback on it from the fan base. Not only that, but it was also teased heavily in the Stone & Steel Artbook. Why would SE do that? Players want more race diversity so bad. The only saving grace at this point is if they revolutionize player customization.

No. No they shouldn't have.

If ANY race is to be added, they should be added when it's sensible to add them. We are going LITERALLY right next door to the neighboring country. What's the story going to be? "Yeah we've been here all along, nice to meet ya"? We don't need another group to show up on Eorzea's door step saying "Yeah, our country came under attack by the Garleans, now we're here" we already have the Domans for that.

Let us get away from Eorzea a bit before a new race just shows up.

LOL. It's the same people generating content in order to make it appear there's a wealth of support. One thing management has, which apparently the OP has not, is a good number of how many people play, which they can compare to this supposed groundswell of support begging for the bunny wabbits.

I beg not for the bunny wabbits. I don't think a majority of anyone but those who spam websites to create false impressions are yelling for Viera this and Viera that - along with the big butt slider.
