I'm already at my endgame. If you mean when do I want to reach the same endgame the rest of the playerbase is at, the answer is never. By the time I register my copy of Heavensward, you'll probably consider Stormblood to be obsolete and be a few patches of the way in to whatever the next expansion after that is.

There's still a ton of stuff to do in the game I'm already playing. Once I finish it all and need to look elsewhere to have content to do, then I'll register Heavensward, but before that, I'll have at a bare minimun:
    • All jobs/classes to 50. (So far, I've just got BRD, NIN, and all the DoH and DoL there.)
    • Have run every dungeon, trial, and raid available at level 50. (Still a long way to go here. I've done several hard mode dungeons and trials as I get to them in the course of relic upgrades, but most others aren't even unlocked yet. Haven't even started on Coil.)
    • Complete every sidestory and sidequest in ARR. (I've done most of Hildibrand, but only just started on Moogle Delivery quests.)
    • Have at least the first stage of all 10 Relic weapons, with at least one of them (maybe more) advanced all the way to Zeta. (Currently on the animus books for both NIN and BRD.)
    • Max reputation with all ARR beast tribes, and complete the allied beast tribe quests. (Ixal, Kobold, and Amalj'aa done. Working on Sahagin. Barely started on Sylph.)
    • Have all master books and Lucis tools, all earned from items I've made/gathered myself. (Just gearing up for this. My earlier attempts to make HQ Vanya silk for my first master book, back before I had good level 50 gear, didn't go so well.)
There might be a few other things. There's some notable achievements, for instance, like the ones that reward the Luminary tools for DoH/DoL, that I'd want to do. I can't think off hand what similarly notable achievements there are in other parts of the game, but there probably are some.

I'm already a bit flooded by all this content that I've yet to complete. Piling even more on top of it with an expansion is just way too much until I clear out my current stuff.

You couldn't possibly fathom subscribing to Netflix when there are still Thousands of VHS tapes to watch! My bad bro. Carry on.

Beauty, or value, is in the eye of the beholder.

You have a desire to have the "current" or "relevant" gear, this person, wants to play the game at his pace and his style. You have yours, he has his, I have mine, no reason to act ridiculous because you dont agree with his playstyle.

    @Niwashi

If you want to be prepared to continue onto heavenward after 2.0, I'd suggest making sure you have plenty of CP melded.

Once you meet any requirements for the most difficult craft, such as "451 Craftsmanship and 407 control" which i believe is the requirement to craft 4 star level 50 crafts, and the most difficult at that level, the rest should go to CP.

Thats what i would do knowing how CP heavy 3.0 is.

Any extra amount of time or effort you'd want to put into after meeting 451, 407 and melding CP, just toss in which ever you like more. Be it control to get quality up, or craftsmanship to ensure you finish crafts easier based upon your personal rotation.

I personally think its refreshing to see someone playing the game simply to experience it and not for any other superfluous reason.

I did spend a lot on the gear itself. The melding hasn't cost much so far, though, because I did it mainly with materia I'd gotten from converting all the gear I'd used while leveling up. But I've already used up nearly all of that stockpile on melding my armor and jewelry.

Tier 4 materia is available from Ixal quests and now fairly often from squadron missions, so I can still get more of that for free, which is good since that's what I'm going to want for melding the off-hand tools. (At that tier, the carbonized matter is actually harder to come by than the materia itself, so that's the part I usually end up buying.)

    Thanks.

It looks like what I have already plus the boost I'll get by going from i55 quest main tools to their i90 Lucis versions should be enough to hit those 4 star minimum stats. (And to reach Lucis, I'll only need 3-star recipes. I think I can hit that already. It's just getting them to HQ that's tough.) So the remaining materia will be for an additional bonus beyond the minimums.

I'll include the 3 points that the stat caps allow for CP. As for the rest, I'm thinking mostly Control. Perhaps three materia for 12 points of Control and one for 6 points of Craftsmanship. That would get me to 411 Craft / 399 Cntl / 352 CP with my current main tools, and then going up to 484 Craft / 435 Cntl / 352 CP once I reach Lucis tools (plus whatever I can add with food and FC buffs).
