A few questions about Foe's Requiem

I think I made a thread asking about Foe's before, but I never know how people are going to react to a necropost. Anyway...

    1. Besides casters and healers, do DRK, NIN, or any other jobs with some "magic" looking skills benefit from this at all?

    2. I'm not sure what do as far as dungeons when I'm with caster jobs. I used to just save BV + Foe's for bosses, but I've recently been trying to see if I can keep Foe's going for trash as well. The problem I run into is my MP doesn't regenerate quite fast enough to have it up for every trash pack, or worse I'm left with a small sliver when we get to a boss. So how do I need to use Foe's in dungeons? Should I be popping ethers to keep as much uptime on it as possible?

Also, I DO try to use Foe's for healers as well but not every healer seems very excited about helping with damage.

    1. Yes. DRK magical attacks and NIN magical mudras are affected by it.

    2. Basically, put it up as the pull starts and, as any DPS, healers also have a damage burst. You can turn it off mid-pull to have it for the next. Or now that BV is only 3min cooldown, you can pretty much put Foe up whenever BV is up and let it run dry.

    3. Yeah, not much you can do about it, but at least you know you're doing your part.

Please keep performing this public service; active healers will love you for it.

I watch to see if my healer is DPSing, if they are, Ill give them a foes.

I turn off my songs when I'm down to about 1k mp if I'm running Savage or EX primals, in case ballad is required in an emergency.

Battle voice depends on the fight. If my static is running new content, Im almost always saving this for a clutch ballad for progression's sakes if we're all being derps. If we're comfortable, BV+Foes 100%, luckily my caster is on the same couch as me so he tells me when he's bursting.

In general content, ill rather BV and Foes if we're doing a HUGE pull rather than at the boss. If I'm being lazy, ill let my mp run dry.

Or if you're lucky and get an Overpower happy WAR, he'll blame his depletiom of his TP on you cause they'll expect your dps to be lowered for their TP. That's always a fun time.

No bosses in dungeons are hard enough to want to save it for them; use it as much as possible long as mobs are being fought. It's all time saved whether trash or boss.

Never be afraid to play Foe.

If there is a big pull from the tank, play Foe. Healer might want to help out with dps as well.
After the mobs are dead, off Foe for your mp to recharge.

Usually small mobs i wont play foe but always in boss room i will always play.

I have met healers who requested to play Foe to contribute to dps as well. Awesome people!

I will save Battle voice for bosses. If you are concerned about not having anymore mp, you can use those mp restoration potions.
Example: In a 8 man party, plenty people are down (including yourself) and healer raise you. You see their mp are going down as well. Pop a mp potion and play ballad for a few minutes.

As a bard, never limit yourself to playing foe. Army and ballad is there to help your party.
Just make sure to remind yourself army and ballad if not required, please off it. It causes reduces own damage by 10%.

In dungeons it depends on your group comp. If you have melee, army when the last mob is around 10-15%, everyone will be topped up for the next pull and reduces downtime(you usually get tank comm if they are a War, and dps comm if you do this). If you have a caster or healer likes to deeps, Foe till the trash is thinned down to just a couple and their burst is over then turn it off and army while running for the next pull(you usually again will get 2 or so comms for this). During boss fights, pop BV if you have it at start and foe so heals and caster can take advantage of it for deeps. For mp management, don't foe when pulls are small(1 or 2 adds) or if everything is close to dead(1 or 2 adds left with not much health) turn it off at that point. Once you get the rhythm of it you can keep up foe's most of a dungeon and army between pulls without much effort. I also strongly agree with an above poster's comment on hanging onto 1k mp in 8 man content for emergency ballads.

Do note, however, that if your healer is spamming Holy or Gravity and almost completely depletes his MP, this does not mean you should immediately sacrifice your damage for ballad. Healers who can spam Holy or Gravity without worry over the tank are typically the same healers who have the management skills to be entirely self-sufficient in their MP use and restoration. They'll Shroud, Assize, Luminiferous Aether, or something; so stick with Foe Requiem or if a heavy TP party, Paeon.
