See it now, but that does not reassure me I'm afraid. I think we need a Little dev clarification on this. Considering Instances Raids immediately follows that, it makes me think they intend to make changes to in game Non Instanced Dungeons and then convert them.
Yeah, it just seems odd they'd take that superflous step of converting them, and seems odd they'd include it as an item on the timeline like that.
That means concerning "non-instanced dungeons" which will be made into instanced dungeons only.
It refers to the plan set out here http://wdl.square-enix.com/ffxiv/dow...Content_EN.pdf 2nd page.
You only have to think about it, to use the cross world dungeon finder it has to be instanced, you can't bring people from other servers to your server just to do a dungeon.

This is a terrible idea. Please don't do it. Have instanced dungeons if you must, (and I said yesterday, I'm hoping one of the new ones coming in 1.21 is 35+), but don't instance everything. Half the fun of a FF is exploring dungeons, and if I have to get 3-7 people together to do something on a timer, that is eliminating the sense of exploration at one's own pace that's possible with open world dungeons. I agree with one of the above posters that Sposhae was awesome. I'd like to see more dungeons designed like that instead of instancing them all.

I'm all for the majority of party-based content being instanced. And I hope there are tools in place for people with similar interests to find each other for parties. I guess I don't understand the anti-instance people. I like the open world, scaleable content like the current guild leves and behests, but I think the NMs and meatier content belongs in instances. There is no reason instances have to be LS only if there are good seek/search features in place.

How do you know the instanced dungeons will have a time limit?
Also how do you know what "instanced" is actually referring to? Maybe they mean it is separate from the over-world map (you have to zone in) and once you are in you get plugged into an instanced dungeon with your party that can hold an additional 30 parties in the dungeon instance.
With that setup you get a more diverse looking dungeon (less copy/pasta since its separate from the world) and competitive play with other parties.
The reason they will be converting the dungeons to all instanced content is becuse it looks like they want to implement cross server play.
Can't say I'm a fan of the idea though, I prefer lots of open world content.
They adding a cross server content finder (dungeon finder) so finding groups for leveling and such shouldn't be so bad as it is now with no group tools. It will work once 2.0 is out.
I don't want to have to be in an instance to get a group. I don't want to have to make a party to meet new people. I want places in the world that anyone can access at any time where I may happen to run into someone with a common goal and possibly team up..
There is no reason for ALL dungeon content to be restricted to party play.
There is certainly no reason to push us into groups of people we will never see outside of a dungeon.
This is like cramming that awful GWs system, where every time you leave town you only ever see the 4 people you happen to party with anywhere ever, into our dungeon crawling.
I play MMOs so I can be in a game where there are other people. If i wanted to play alone or never see anyone except the people I invite I would play a regular RPG..
Do you really wander around the world and team up with random people who wander by for NMs or dungeon-type content? Really?I don't want to have to be in an instance to get a group. I don't want to have to make a party to meet new people. I want places in the world that anyone can access at any time where I may happen to run into someone with a common goal and possibly team up..

People gather in cities for a reason, in real life and in games. That's where you meet people.
