This is my take on the ps4 pro... if I didnt have a 4k TV already, I wouldn't get it, but the notices are there, you can see the difference of quality, Defiantly

all that is left is for square enix to provide a official update for this game, like SE has for Deus Ex, FF15 and Tomb Raider,

Hoping for that official patch either comming out soon or when the new Expansion comes out!

    wish the best!
please don't give out misinformation. I also have PS4 PRO and playing FF14 on it frame rate still the same as old ps4 not smoother but loading time 5-7 sec faster then my old ps4 using SSHD

Yeah, a hybrid drive has been helping out a lot on my load times. The stock drive in the PS4 Pro is a joke (still SATA II 5,400 RPM - bigger than the regular PS4 HDD, but not really better.) The pro can take SATA III drives with max 9.5mm drive height.

Games without pro support do NOT benefit from being played on the pro in any way.
S-rank frame rate seems to be better on the pro. It may not be 100% cut and dry that a patch is required for any benefit, but this is a relatively small benefit.

Also: in this case it may be more of getting past a limitation in the original hardware and not an enhancement itself.

Also noticed on the pro to record video at 1080p with 60 minute max time and take 4k screenshots. Not sure if those changes are pro unique or if regular saw some changes too.

Recording in 1080p and streaming in 1080p60fps (only on YT at the moment, twitch still 720) and taking 4K screenshots are Pro exclusive. Recording up to 60 min can be done on all PS4s, it came with the 4.0 update.

don't mean to mislead, again my personal experience

idk if people dont want to hear it? or they are pc players? but 400 dollar 4K machine is alot better than 2000 dollar 4k tower(and yes there are exemptions you can find online)and yes the resolution is still set to a 2160

you can certainly upgrade the hdd and spend another 100 dollars on a hybrid ssd/HDD or SSD drive and have at least 6 seconds of less load times
, and the new support for SATA 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2LkK5PIwUQ
im not trying to mislead anyone, and I have a feeling I need to make a youtube video to prove it lol the smoother screen is something I notice... also when leaving all effects on game does not bog down now like I said,... chances are they will send an update for 4k support on the new expansion (or before)... also the fact that SE is supporting 4k games on all their other AAA titles this holiday season

No need to double-down. There are definite known facts about the Pro. The only way we'd be having improved Pro performance is for SE to have sneaked the support in a patch without anyone knowing.

Sony said themselves games need to be patched for the Pro, hence why there were patches specifically for Pro release.

And no, a 2000 PC can run this game at 4k 60FPS (considering it's a 2000 PC made not long ago and has last gen GPU), the PS4 Pro is not playing at Native 4k, unless they patch it, what you see is upscaled 4k and 30FPS.

The Pro can't do 4k 60FPS, unless it's an Indie game or a not very demanding game, the pro was designed with 1080p 60FPS (on every game) in mind, 4k 30FPS is a bonus.

Not even play in 4K, it's using an upscaling algorithm, ya it might hit 60fps at 1080p, but this console is still a rip off, it feels that the capabilities of the pro should have been day one out of the box standard. Rather a priced up upscaled version.

There are some native 4k games on ps4 pro (Skyrim and the last of us currently).

As far as the upscaling algorithm, by most accounts it's a VERY good upscaling algorithm, and is still natively higher resolution than 1080p even it's not native 4k.
