I think it's a good possibility. Final Fantasy XII HD Remaster is going to be launched next year and there's rumors that we'll be visiting Dalmasca on XIV's future content/expansions.

As for the "Viera are from the Woods", yes they are, but on XIV you see a lot of Vieras that just left the woods to live outside, anywhere. They are adaptable, and the fact that most of em (open for speculation) live in the woods is just because of the tradition of listening to it, as a great mother higher being that protect the race and gives guidance. But it's worth mentioning that 1) We know very few about the male counterpart of the Viera, therefor we don't even know if the males live in the woods or not. And 2) Everything in this game is a "human variation", so I see no point on the whole "it's a Hyur with <insert trait here>" argument. Yes, it is. Doesn't mean it's going to be less fun to play because of it.

At some point, I went from mostly indifferent about Viera to staunchly against them. Or rather, should I say, staunchly against how most people (at least a lot of the vocal ones anyway) want them to appear. Do we really need yet another cutesy race? Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with cutesy races, but ffs, the majority of the playerbase is already split between mi'qote and au ra. We're really just gonna settle for another one of those except this time with bunny ears? Ooooooookay, sure, that sounds totally original and awesome.

I agree on the "cutesy" thing, because Viera are very elegant, mature and don't fall into the "kawaii desu" trap. But seeing some of the concepts I really hope SE, if they give us the race, at least make the Viera something the female AuRas were supposed to be from the get go. Same for the males and the concept art of them being highlander-alike bunny men. Also totally on the Ronso train, I would love to see them as a playable race.

No i didn't? I simply said Burmecians live in the desert, which they do, fleeing from war or not let's not forget the state Burmecia was in and how many Burmecians were there.

But now that you talk about it, Woods is exactly the opposite of the Desert.

And 4.0 is pretty much a war, either way i don't care, i doubt we're getting a new race so it barely matters, not to mention Au Ra was unexpected.

I never liked beast races, this is probably the first game i play as one (Au Ra).

I'd rather have the race resources spent on an extra Job, even if it was to come in a later patch.

Pretty much a light party of variety and would be wonderful for DF.

Yeah totally. If that's what everyone was clamoring for, I'd be right there beside them, but it just seems like a lot of people want a rehash of what's essentially (and abundantly) already in the game.

Freya and her people could well find a home in Eureka but honestly, "Burmecians" are not a pretty race and I wouldn't want to play them, they are more animal-looking than humanoids, like the Kobolds so it's a big NO for me!...

And that's why we will never get any races beyond the generic cute and boyish looks we got now.
