Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

For those saying they don't have the resources to do it, consider that they made the Au Ra - a brand new race never before seen - with less, and as a first time approach to an expansion. They're dropping PS3 support, overhauling jobs and cross class abilities, adding new jobs new skills, new zones, etc. . . It sounds to me like they're just fine on resources. And factor in the concepts for that race are already established, along with popular demand, and it's not hard to see the possibility being a strong one.

Yoshi-P is right, and the other concepts found in the "Stone and Steel" artbook reinforce that they were simply unable to, at the time, come up with a Viera inspired race that still hit what they wanted to add as they couldn't stray far from the design with the girls.

It really did come down to Auri men bringing a really fresh option verses bunny guys just being taller Miqo'te.

But, holy hell, did they drop the ball hard on Auri girls. They could've easily filled the gaps of savage and sexy but instead have the bodies and emotes of sweet, school girls.

The final product isn't bad by any means, but it's more of the same among feminine options.

Also, budget. SB has a reportedly $35mil budget, HW had $12mil.

I really like the viera in the second picture. They're adorable. They look like their height would be in between lalafell and miqote, so the second shortest race in the game. Though I wouldn't mind having a viera of the first picture, the second picture really speaks to me.

As I've said in others thread regarding a new races. I don't mind us getting them, when it makes sense when we get them. Getting one going into 4.0 won't make for a good story. What's it going to be, yet another race/group of people fleeing their country?

I say wait till we venture further off Eorzea and into Garlemald or other continents before we introduce more races... at least it would make more sense to bump into some "newer" races then.

If I had to pick one it would totally be the short cute one. Lalafells need some competition.

I rather a more "furry" new race. like Ronso or something like Skyrim's Khajiit or WoW's Pandarens.
