I thought it was HM, but I don't see why that matters.
I should clarify, that while I disagree with your stance on not raising to start and agree with the SCH, the only reason I started taking part in this is due to your post
You're playing worse here, while not worse enough to cry home about, it's worse. You're outright complaining about the players accepting bad play. It's quite hypocritical - and your notion that "next time someone rips agro, I'll just stand there" is childish, and takes your tantrum out on people who are not even discussing this with you.Amazing.
Next time someone rips aggro I'll just stand there and let it chew their face off.
"Sorry, difference in playstyles."
Really amazes me how often this game blames players for refusing to accept bad/ lazy behaviour. Terrible healers get away with everything, and I'm through letting it slide tbh. How dare I suggest using the 10k mana you have in reserve to actually, you know... do something.

Why do DPS insist on attacking mobs that aren't being attacked by the tank? Is this some sort of new meta that I'm unaware of...?
It makes quite a lot of difference actually, considering your whole argument is based on the amount of time it takes to run there and my DPS. You don't even have Royal Authority at that stage.
I had assumed the sarcasm was apparent in that statement, but I forget where I am sometimes. Allow me to clarify: it was sarcasm.your notion that "next time someone rips agro, I'll just stand there" is childish, and takes your tantrum out on people who are not even discussing this with you.
No, it's just bad habit or play here. At higher levels, the tank aoes have enough umph to keep aggro if placed here and there in the rotations, but if your DPS outgears you something fierce or there is so much flash from attacks all over they can't see who you're hitting from range, you may need to use marks to keep it clean.
You're partially right, in the sense that the overall damage would also be lost by you not being present for a short amount of time. That said, it is better to go back to the start and take the shortcut. It's not a very far walk.
Obviously it was sarcasm, it doesn't make it suddenly not childish nor hypocritical.I had assumed the sarcasm was apparent in that statement, but I forget where I am sometimes. Allow me to clarify: it was sarcasm.
Tanks have good aoe threat from a low level. You can keep AoE threat fine as a PLD in Sastasha. At higher levels, DPS should be AoEing and not targeting markers. Marking and solo focusing threat is a bad habit. No, it's just bad habit or play here. Tonight I became that AST in PotD that only healed herself and trew cards on herself.
Floors 21-30. Party set up: me as AST, a conjurer, a WAR and a sprout pugilist. First thing I notice is the CNJ not using cleric. Next thing was the PUG never dodged any telegraph and aggroed every single enemy by just standing next to it and not doing fudge all, and then running with the mob to the tank. And finally the tank would just do his own thing and not have any interest whatsoever on monsters that were hitting on someone other than himself. Gradually I stopped healing the PUG and he tried to kill me by moving to me when he had agro, hoping for some aoe to catch me. But I just moved away and since I had no hate on his monster, I was just fine. Then he started to deliberately trigger the traps (nope, he wasn't trying to pop a hoard), so I just kept away from him.
This went on through the entire set of floors. The CNJ nuking stone without cleric, the tank minding his own mob, the PUG trying to kill me and actively catching all possible bombs/telegraphs.
The tip of the straw kinda came when I wanted to get that bronze chest (scuse me, I do want a chance at that sherd) and there was ony one monster in the way, and all three decided to just stand at the telepoint with the CNJ pledging "can we move on". So I didn't say a word, killed my mob and got the chest with a juicy set of 3 megapots to the CNJ to which he said "discard".
Last boss, I went full time cleric, nuked like there was no tomorrow, everyone (!!!) else got terrorized every single time, but I minded my own business, got awesome arrows and balances all for myself and finished with a beautiful healer LB2, since nobody else used it and boss was at 2%.
What a beautiful experience.
Asking for a raise, waiting for the raise, denying the raise, respawning, waiting for the shortcut, running back, buffs - it sets back the run by minutes. That's the whole point. A raise takes two seconds.
Obviously to you it wasn't, if you thought I intended to do such a thing. Explain how that's childish and hypocritical?Obviously it was sarcasm, it doesn't make it suddenly not childish nor hypocritical.
Not from my experience on all sides of the equasion.
If your tank is minimally geared, or the others are vastly overgeared, or both, keeping hate can be tricky. Especially on GLD/PLD, who don't have anything but Flash, a prayer, and a high amount of situational awareness, a skill that's generally learned with practice.
And, yes, it doesn't matter at higher levels and gear when you have Sword/Shield Oath, Flash, Circle of Scorn, Spirits Within, and the full RoH combo. I specifically mentioned it's easier at high levels since "the tank aoes have enough umph" then. You're already way over geared for Sastasha if you're a Paladin, not Gladiator, anyway.
That's why I suggest marking targets when hate is otherwise bouncing around.
Ok kiddo, here's a timeline for you from your own post:
0:00 Death
2:00 Raise please
2:03 Respawn and run back.
2:04 No, I'm really slow and it'll take me forever
2:05 DPS and healer get sick, move along
2:06 "Oh no you didn't! Fine!" Tank acts petty, lays there.
3:00 Tank gets kicked
See something here? You wasted 2 mins just laying there. Some of these times are kinda made up, but you said yourself you laid a few minutes and all. And I'm not sure how you run, but taking the shortcut and sprinting to the final boss (I had a wipe recently so I recall) was MAYBE 30s. Casting protect is 2s. Where you're pulling minutes from is beyond me. Also, a raise is.... what, 10s as no healer would waste swiftcast at that point. You not only exaggerate horribly (and are getting called on it), you wasted 2 minutes and who knows how long you threw your tantrum for. You can't complain about lazy/toxic, yet advocate the same. This is one of those times where the poster caused the issue and ain't happy they're getting called on it.
And pulling hate in Gubal NM is not hard if a tank has weakness. Sorry, I'd rather have every advantage we can get.
