I had a pretty bad self fail the other day

Did my first ever run of Snowcloak for the story quest. Watched a video beforehand to try and avoid mistakes.

On Fenrir, I wasn't fast enough to run behind the icicle to avoid the Lunar Cry. So I got hit by it and got frozen so I couldn't move out of the AOE. So I died.

I felt so bad

If it makes you feel better, first time I did it same thing happened. Heck, I didn't even register that it was a mechanic until the healer got pissed at me for not doing it... We got surprisingly far.

I think I may have died every single time my first time, so I wouldn't worry about it. It's pretty common~

What people are saying. No one should be expected to be flawless on a first run, though it is nice when they are. It helps to count the icicle drops for that fight, between odd and even. On every even icicle drop, (e.g the 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc), run and hide.

LB depends on the role and bars/tiers filled. A naked monk lvl 60 will do the same damage as an ilvl 245 dragoon. LB has its own potency that cannot be enhanced further.

Sorry, but that is wrong (unless they changed it recently, and I saw nothing about that in the patch notes). Limit Break strength is dependent on the combined weapon dmg/weapon ilvl of the party.
So while there will be no difference between a ilvl 245 MNK with a 255 weapon and a naked MNK with a 255 weapon, there is a CRAZY difference in LB strength between a party with a 255 weapon MNK and one with a ilvl 1 one (because that means the combined weapon ilvl dropped by 254!).

Since Palace uses no ilvls and weapon dmg but upgrades, I can't make a SURE claim that it was 100% the low gear's fault the LB was so weak, but I'm gonna go ahead and make that claim anyways, because it seems like upgrade levels seem to correlate with ilvls outside.

I know that feeling. Just did a12n several times last night to help a friend get loot. On the last run I got paired with a scholar who didn't even succor. After the phase change they just... stopped healing. They were at max MP until they died, and when I raised them and gave enhanced Ewer, they got to max MP again and... did nothing. It was SUPER painful. I was constantly at <10% MP because I had to raise people left and right and keep the tanks up and make sure the healer didn't hit the floor. In the end almost everybody had died, so I used LB3. And first thing people say "WHO USED THE LIMIT BREAK?!?!?!!" Geez. At least we managed to finish it.

Oh, and it didn't help that a monk didn't enter the timegate, so the other three dps had to really work their butts off to finish the adds.

Is this the time when you wish EOS/SELENE would be controlling the player's character and not otherwise ?

Had a head ache so I wanted to do some easy stuff on my lowbie alt on another data center.

I unlock PotD and go in, and the run is fine. Smooth. Kill things, get chest, move on. But for some reason, on the last floor, the tank decides to nag me about killing things once the passage is activated... It took literally two stones (I'm CNJ) for me to kill it.
I explain to them that I am aware that I don't HAVE to kill them all, I'm doing it for the levels.
And they continue to nag that it's so easy to level it doesn't matter.

Like... Ok, I'm sorry, I'd rather kill a monster in two stones rather than have to wait for four people to drag themselves along to help. I won't see you on the next level, I may need to carry some fools, so Imma stop and kill this thing.

I get it at the top levels when you're 60. I get it that it's easy. Nag nag nag.

I was so annoyed I just left. Looking back I feel a little bad for not comming the other healer cause they were a bamf.
