It's a new week, which means I'm hot on the trail of another 3 Leveling Roulettes!

Deja vu, my first draw was The Vault again this week. The tank was new to the dungeon, which is fine, so things proceeded at a slow, but steady pace. There were a DRG and BLM on the team as well. While the BLM was doing wonderful, the DRG on the other hand... oh lawd hammercy... Now, I'm not one to judge the specifics of the class, but even I know that throwing up the critical hit buff at the end of the trash pack doesn't make sense. Throw in a few episodes of him just straight up not even attempting to dodge attacks and we've got us one dead goon appropriately tanking the floor. We did eventually clear it, with one wipe on the last boss.

Second draw and I got... The Aery. It's been awhile since I've been through these dungeons, but I don't remember them being particularly challenging. We drop in and I have a DRK, MNK, and BLM as my party members. The new person bonus message pops up, but *crickets* no one says anything. We plod along and I notice that the first trash (a whopping two mobs) is dying horrifically slow. I know it's a leveling dungeon, so I'm not exactly expecting Expert Roulette Speed Run style... but even then something just seems off. I do a quick check of the DPS gear and it reveals a mix of i100-110 gear. I mean, it seems low to me, but again it's been awhile. That's when I start paying attention to attacks. The MNK seems to be appropriately going through the motions, so I turn my attention to the BLM. Again, not my main class, but I have gotten it to 60 to where I know the basics. This person... oh this person... is literally single-target casting Fire until out of MP, then casting Blizzard until back to full MP, and repeating the cycle from there. No Thunder. No Aoe. No nothing.

After 15+ minutes struggling through the first boss, I just couldn't. I felt a silent rage welling up in me and just knew it would get worse if I stayed. I apologized and bowed out. At that point I just had to take a much needed break.

Call it what you like, though I'd argue not using an ability that comes as part of your job falls more closely under "not doing your job" than waiting for a raise.

A spade is a shovel is an entrenching tool. The healer being in the wrong--a point that I acknowledged and agreed with in my last post--in no way negates or alters your having also been in the wrong. You had but to release and run back, and you would likely not have been kicked. Instead, you sulked on the floor, escalating a difference in playstyles into a refusal to participate. Attempting to justify yourself by repeating "they did it first!" isn't going to change facts or garner you much credulity. Did the healer get kicked after you? I certainly hope so, but we'll never know because you were also being a problem child and got removed first.

Fact of the matter is you both were wrong, you just got booted first (and far as I can tell, escalated it unnecessarily). That time you spent on the floor was transit time wasted. I tend to say the same thing when I heal as I just dislike having weakness on someone before a boss when it can be prevented. I save my raises for inside fights where we need people, unless there are several pulls ahead and I know the debuff will fall off in time. 2 minutes isn't much time anyway...

Reminds me a bit of a VA run I had where a NIN always pulled bosses. Last boss, it bit them in the butt. In their effort to go fast and not wait 10s, our tank got locked out and we wiped. Several minutes of people reviving and running back which could've been prevented.

...met a BLM in A12 today - they had about 15k HP, wearing legs and boots from the libary NM (yes, ilvl148) and full healing right side... when being called out they explained that this is called playing a second job...

I got my first carry today and it feels bad. I went into A12 for the gear and had the worst lag. Everyone was moving, the boss was moving, I just was like five seconds behind everyone. I got hit by everything, couldn't cast Mudras, couldn't even combo. When it was time to go into the Freezetime Field I couldn't. At some point the time stop registered and that just muffled my music for the rest of the run. At 12% everything just stopped. A little bit later, I got a in cutscene symbol beside my name. And then I was DC'd. Got back in and everything was fine.

I did Main Scenario for a quick Lv50 sticker afterwards and everything was fine. I don't know what that was. Never had that much lag. Even on my old terribad computer running at 13 FPS, it wasn't that bad.

This was.... a unique experience. Ran A11 and noticed... we had a GLD... but he has PLD unlocked. Cleared it with some ease (few of us died on the 2nd Propeller Wind per usual) but it was kinda funny to watch.

The first 3 healers I met in DF today were all SCHs. I feel like one of them may have been the exact same SCH

If he was a lala whose name started with a "V" then most likely. lol

Par for the course with the SCH I typically see >.> Kinda the end result of combining a DPS and healer, then giving them an automatic pet.

That's also the thing, he hardly did any dps work either. Once we died in that boss battle I kept watching him and aside from the occasional cure to the tank, there was nothing else.

It was a minor issue when EDD spawned as he and the WHM were taking aggro back and forth. But overall very funny to watch.
