Hey, I'll do so tonight. Both of those were originally screen shotted on PS The top one on PS4 and the lower one I think was PS3. I up-res'd the top one of these two, and added a little intelligent smudging and sharpening and then resized it back down a bit. the apparent resolution is higher than the original. I may have done similar on the lower one, I cannot remember.

When I find a picture I really like, I always super size it to about twice the normal size, remove noise, enhance the vcolor and contrast, and apply a little intelligent smudging to reduce the jaggies. Then I do a smart surface blur that only blurs colors that are very close to each other, but preserves edges. I then do a little basic sharpening - which is in effect increasing the local contrast. After all that I shrink it back down a bit to take advantage of the anti-aliasing of the downsizing, and I end up with a picture that has better resolution than the original without a reduction in quality.

I've also been known to erase mouse pointers and simulate the slight blur at the edge of a lens, along with a light vignette effect, and even create an artificial feeling of depth, but simulating depth of field blurring. Sometimes it's more fun to play with the images to see what you can get than it is taking them...lol

Being able to edit images like this is one of the pitfalls of having a decent Android phone at work....well pitfall might not be the right word.

Image editing ..... on android of all things.
As an amateur photographer this makes me cringe.
Also you can not get more details by editing a picture, no way, unlike tv series would like us to believe. But you can improve upon the image so it looks better.
The same goes for upscaling on television. The image WONT be more detailes.

No, not in reality, but by upsizing it, cleaning it up and then downsampling it you effectively gain a super sampled version of the image. It enhances (improves the visibility of) the existing detail if done well, but like any form of up-scaling of an image it adds no extra detail. TV shows not withstanding.

Android has several very nice image handling tools. If you collect the right ones and use the strong points of each, it's actuually quite acceptable. Since I'm not about to edit personal images on a work PC, my Android will have to do. Please let's not get into one of those platform snobbery things where only PCs or Macs running photoshop are suitable for image work and Androids are suitable only for scraping of your shoes.

Almost all my image editing was done on my Android tablet. Sadly it died, so I am stuck with my phone (more powerful than the tablet was, and it was no slouch). I could lug my i7 laptop around for it, but to be honest it weighs about 25+ times more than my phone and won't fit in my pocket. The biggest issue is the screen size, the capability of the editors depends on whether you selected a good editor. And of course using a 'lossless' format for the image files instead of jpeg until the final edit is complete and I need a jpeg to post.
