Why do people beg for cash shop stuff?

I wouldn't really call it laziness. Like Zojha and others have mentioned, people have worked for the real money paid to get those cash shop items.

It's instant gratification. Problem is it causes things to just be in the shop rather than the game which is why those people do deserve criticism. Also I'm sick of hearing "I work for my money". It's a video game, you either play it or you don't. Just buying your way through things kinda misses the point of playing, yeah?

That really doesn't matter when the items have absolutely no large effect on your gameplay. Most of the stuff from the cash shop are exclusive and the past event items are rather easy to get at the time they were free. The dyes are just luck-dependent.

Yesterday, I played COD13, it's a game that costs few HUNDRED MILLIONS to make,
& I completed it in ONE day,
if you want to continue playing that game, IW needs to put even more money for new contents.

Instant gratification cost game company arms & legs,

Do you remember how many new weapons & armors you've got while leveling?
and the cutscenes, voices, CGs, new dungeons, fancy outfits, new gears every 3 months, new graphic engine, countless QoL changes.
you like them yes? but do you know they cost a lot?

That's why you see cash shop & DLCs in these games

If you don't like cash shop, then contents need to have longevity,
that means the game will be something like FFXI/FFXIV1.2x/EQ, do you like these games? No?
If you like the current state of the game, then cash shop must exist

It's for costumes tho. You make it sound like people are buying dungeons. So you mean to tell me that stupid dress is something equal to a dungeon or endgame gear? Cause it's not the same thing. Long as nothing is P2W why care people want to spend their money on a stupid costume? IF we were talking about gear thats something different. But we're NOT. And it's not there so why insult someone buying a dress?

One would think - but then the people who either can't or don't wish to buy an item from the Station will complain about how "unfair" it is they have to work for their item while others can just buy it. There is really no winning solution to this cash shop vs. anti cash shop debate.

So I say the best solution is to just let people do whatever - you want to rant and complain about the cash shop, go ahead. You want to buy any item the cash shop releases, whether you plan to use it often or just for a few hours? Go ahead. What needs to stop is both sides of the fence attacking each other for their differing opinions/decisions in regards to the Station.

Actually you are totally wrong about FFXI. What you described happened with FFXI when Abyssea hit, large amount of players left the game as equipment became obsolete over night. It also killed off majority of the HNM and endgame scene. So no people liked the game till they started making it easy.

That's incorrect, exclusives affect everybody playing the game. If Odin's mount was added to the game every player would have access to it by playing, by adding it to the cash shop you're limiting it to those willing to pay extra for it.

I have to agree hardly anyone does both version of Odin, if the mount was the reward you would see flocks of people there everyday.

Also I buy things from mogstation from time to time so I am not against it. I just think it should go Event>Past event npc(nothing was on this npc from 2015 halloween)>mogstation. Making new players miss out on so many things is not right.

It does effect gameplay. Mmos are not just gear and stats many pretend that's the case but when glamour items cost millions on the mb and people spend real money for things, glamour plays a huge role. It's all about collection. The new weapon, latest armour, hardest reward items. The cash shop just gives instant gratification instead. It taps into that collection aspect that draws people to Mmos and if that wasn't true the cash shop wouldn't be popular, would it.

Except that for a new player, they are one and the same. If you are joining the game now, Lightning gear might as well never have been ingame, it's no different to the chinese dress. That's only different for you who were subbed during that time. For everyone else, it's a cash shop exclusive and thus, affect players in the exact same way - assuming they are affected as you say in the first place, of course.

Consequently, old event items cannot be fine with that stance.

Just pointing that out.
