New content in this game gets boring after 2 weeks, at maximum a month, before everyone starts going crazy.
It didn't use to be this quick until you got these threads but when you've been dancing to the same beat and drum for 3 years
and you get bored so quickly now...it use to be about 2 weeks BEFORE the next patch comes when you see these threads.
Also we have about 7~8 months expac so get some popcorn and coke and take a few laughs.
I need more things like Shark Fin Soup and somehow Offensive to some cultures clothes to get going lmao.

Bait thread or no. I think a reasonable argument could be made that heals are too overpowered in this game, thus forcing healers to DPS far more regularly than they necessarily. At least, if they don't want to stand around looking lazy. This, in conjunction with how weak mobs hit, means healers are likely to spend more time in Cleric Stance than out of it.

Exactly. Tanks aren't expected to DPS unless they're comfortable with it and have the gear to go with it (because if they lack the gear and they swap outta tank stance, the enemies will smash them to bits), yet even with a lack of gear healers are expected to heal and DPS, at the same time. I wonder if nerfing all healing abilities by 99% would be a strong enough nerf (not being totally serious here) to stop Cleric Stance use?Bait thread or no. White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
So how can they SOLO with the DPS reduced...we should not just ask for a simple penalty on cleric.
I'd rather they increase both the DPS and MP cost in cleric stance. Thus they can deal with SOLO occasion but would not be asked too much DPS in party.

Tanks are expected to DPS. That's how they hold enmity on things. The difference between tanks and healers is that tanks are always doing something and fully using their GCDs. Healers that don't DPS, usually just stand there doing nothing. If you want to stop cleric stance use, just buff the incoming damage and start introducing soft enrage (aka more damage that goes out the longer the fight) mechanics to fights that tell DPS to push it. Though, I don't know why you would want to stop cleric stance use. It's an interesting mechanic as a healer that I think is really important to being a healer. Effectively using cleric stance shows that you can correctly gauge the incoming damage and contribute to the party in some meaningful way rather than waiting for more damage.Exactly. I would not be surprised at all if the Devs decide to disable Cleric Stance in dungeons/trials like they did in PvP.
They made it clear that they don't want healers to dps too much with decreasing Holy's potency by 10% per use up to 50% and that's the same with ASTs Gravity. Then there's not adding any ACC to healer's gear.
With them getting rid of accuracy in 4.0, the only thing left will then get rid of CS. Even if CS is gone, people will still want healers to dps

I expected a bunch of WHM so salty that they can cure meats march in here and try to occupy the place like they did back in 2.5, but this is actually pretty civil with a lot of decent points, good job.
I used to think WHM DPS was absolutely absurd back in 2.5 myself, but that was mostly holy being able to nuke enemy parties better than Flare, so most runs were "Tank pulls everything > WHM spams holy for stun+DPS until all dead, DPS get yelled at for not having a spammable AoE". I think it's gear, really- gear gets stronger through each patch cycle, so by the time we near an expansion everyone is just really strong across the board.
