Incorrect, the PS3's GPU has been compared to something better than 2x Geforce 7800GTX video cards, which was still powerful when the PS3 was released.

Anyways, the fact is FFXIV was made for PC first, whereas FFXI was made for the PS2 and ported to the PC/360. FFXIV won't be limited even remotely except by current PC hardware.
