This is not about SPACE limitations, but memory limtations, coding limitiations etc.

in fact.. the very FACT that they are making SMALLER ZONES, they just said it is becaue they need to adapt the game for the PS3. So since now... limitations are being present
Perhaps you didn't read the part where it was said that the game would be designed for high-end PCs with fully customizable graphics options, but will still run on the PS3 and similarly powered PCs.
Why do you think the PC version was released and is going to be re-released first? It's a PC game being ported to PS3, not the other way around.
Uhh, the PS3 graphics chip is based on the Nvidia GeForce 7800. Look it up, it's ancient. The PS3 is nowhere near the level of a modern gaming PC. Obviously you can't upgrade the hardware on a console, either. The PS3 is a massively advanced piece of hardware, but the PS2 was not on par with current PC's on the market at the time. Right now, the PS3 is also easily upgradable, and has a huge hard drive as standard, with the option of adding your own HDD's too. I see no limitations for a long long time.
At the very least it will necessitate a bunch of new, lower resolution textures but I guess even alternate models aren't out of the question.
Fairly sure that's the plan based on what I read.Uhh, the PS3 graphics chip is based on the Nvidia GeForce 7800. Look it up, it's ancient. The PS3 is nowhere near the level of a modern gaming PC. Obviously you can't upgrade the hardware on a console, either.

So you see my point guys?
The new FF14 is already held back by the PS3
erm people has been saying in PS 3 you will get medium setting of PC....which one that held back?
Aion Zwei - Masamune
Incorrect, the PS3's GPU has been compared to something better than 2x Geforce 7800GTX video cards, which was still powerful when the PS3 was released.Uhh, the PS3 graphics chip is based on the Nvidia GeForce 7800. Anyways, the fact is FFXIV was made for PC first, whereas FFXI was made for the PS2 and ported to the PC/360. FFXIV won't be limited even remotely except by current PC hardware.
Ohh so you are saying that the game in 5 years will still run "beautifully" on the PS3 and that we will not experience any problems with inventory shortage, or new featuers added?
WoTG = Traveling back in time during the Crystal War which took place in the exact same regions 20 years prior to our "arrival", Common sense why they "reused zones". Why would gustaberg be a completely new zones 20 years ago?
Abyssea = The areas that survived the cataclysm and moon gravitating closer to the planet are the same areas as in vanadiel, just in a different dimension. This is not due to PS2 limitations.
In Fact, the battle field for Abyssea - Empyreal Paradox is different from Empyreal Paradox (Al`Taieu).
