There's people who complain about Relic steps being nerfed, but not completely gone. I can't begin to imagine the uproar if you can completely bypass the process and just pay up for the mounts.I would think it would be the other way around. That people would be upset about cash shop exclusive items rather than items already in game being added to the cash shop. People who don't want to pay can still get them for free and those of us who have better things to do than farm trials for hours can get them as well while providing extra cash flow for SE. It's win win for everyone. If they added items to the cash shop that are no longer obtainable in game it just takes away from that items exclusive value. What I'm asking for doesn't do that.
(Granted, mounts are just aesthetics... Though at the point where they got nerfed, the Relics weren't much better.)
So in other words, a FTP setup? Basically, stick the item in the game with a heavy enough grind that it's literally not even worth it to play the game for it considering it's right there on the cash shop available for everyone? I'm paying a monthly subscription so that I (hopefully) don't have to worry about being treated like that...I would think it would be the other way around. If you want the ponies, just go fight the primals for them. They die pretty quick. Take some friends for quicker queues or go in with a partial party or something. It should be fairly easy. Nobody wants to be pushed onto the cash shop by a horrific grind, that's why many of us pay the sub rather than seeking out a free game.
I'll say this; I don't have anything against the cash shop as a way to buy completely optional little extras. The prices of the latest CS exclusive items are getting a little high for me to validate buying impulsively, that's a bit concerning but it's there and it's optional. If we start seeing hard to get items that players were meant to put effort and time into obtaining, thrown up on the cash shop simultaneously so that the item's in-game value lessens because those players now have a choice between effort/gameplay and money... I think that will start to effect my enjoyment of the game.

Sakuraluna you basically contradicted yourself. It's not a FTP setup because there is a sub and there isn't a hugely massive grind wall for the mounts either as so many people including yourself have already pointed out. People could just get the mounts quicker while providing extra money to SE to improve the game with. It doesn't really effect players like you in any way. No one is asking for in game drop rates to be decreased in conjunction with the mounts being added to the cash shop.
I'm not contradicting myself. The ponies wouldn't be a supergrind, but do you honestly think that they would stop at ponies if given the go-ahead for this kind of player-manipulation. As I pointed out in my last post, they didn't stop at $5 per outfit set. It wouldn't be any different if they start offering items simultaneously in-game and on cash shop. It would slowly evolve into something along the lines of what I described.Sakuraluna you basically contradicted yourself. Also, I highly doubt SE are using all that extra money to improve this game with. XIV gets a budget, and the only reason that's apparently gone up so much since heavensward is because development of ffxv is wrapping up. Most of what this game makes gets funneled into other projects within SE, including what the cash shop brings in.

No.
Square Enix, please disregard this request.
I'm no sure if you are serious in this request, but I am sick and tired of people making topics demanding that this, that or the other in-game item be put in the shop. I am very strongly of the opinion that items that appear in game, even if for just a limited time, should *never* be added to the cash shop, and further more that the items in the cash shop are a) limited in number, and b) do not affect gameplay in any material way.
Unless you have something besides supposition to show this is the case, you should really stop claiming it as fact. I think it is also fair to point out that SE develops (spends money on) many more things than FFXV and FFXIV.Also, I highly doubt SE are using all that extra money to improve this game with. You dont seem to get it. Let me break it down.Sakuraluna you basically contradicted yourself. They wouldnt be lowering the drop rate on the ponies, no. Those are set and would stay the same. However once the ponies are added to the mogstation, if they actually sell, that opens the door for ALL future primal mounts to be added to the mog station. Primal mounts who'se drop rate hasnt even been decided yet.
Now.. when square enix designs the content, they'll have the ponies in mind. They'll know that they shoved them in the cash shop, and people bought them. But the drop rates were good, so not enough people bought them. So they'll need to use what they learned with the ponies, to ensure that future primal mounts get purchased from the mog station more often. And the best way to push people into buying them on the mogstation, is to make it really hard to get in game.
I mean hell, look at you... The ponies are super duper easy to get and take little time, but you're too lazy to put in the work. Imagine if they released new primal mounts that took months or a year of grinding to get. That'd push even more people to purchase them rather then spend the time grinding them. And you can bet, that's what they'll do.
The people are against this because it sets a precedent. It opens the door for them to make things in the future harder to get in game, so that people will spend the money on them rather than grind it out in game. It's the exact same thing free to play games do that offer things in their cash shop that you can get in game.
This statement just tires me. They make more money than all of us combined in a day so they aren't scrounging for cash. It's not a FTP setup because there is a sub and there isn't a hugely massive grind wall for the mounts either as so many people including yourself have already pointed out. People could just get the mounts quicker while providing extra money to SE to improve the game with.
You give them an inch, they'll take miles...MILES and they are already starting to do it.
It's laziness and instant gratification is all I'm seeing here.
Next ALL mounts and lots of other stuff will be in CS too.
Please no. The things are already in the game, just make a PT and try your best to get them.
Things do not ALWWWWAAAAYYYYS need to being thought of because a wallets out and ready.
I'm tryna find out if this is a joke with the amount of topics of "Please let this be in CS" lately.

If they are added to the store, the drop rate is entirely academic. Next to no one will run old EX trials for ponies if they can get them on the MogStationYou dont seem to get it. Let me break it down.

What about how horizontal progression will save us all? Can we talk about that again?
No, she didn't. Nonetheless, primal mounts exist to motivate people into consistently doing old content. If they put them on the cash shop, what reason have I to run Sophia EX anymore since I have my weapons from her? Simply put, if you can't be arsed enough to grind, then those rewards aren't meant for you.Sakuraluna you basically contradicted yourself.
