Or give a normal version mount that you can trade with WM and give the same mount BUT with some kind of themed armor as a ranking reward. That way people will get the mount and pvp will have they unique thing to lord over the filthy pve peasants.

Firmly agreed. It'd have the added benefit of encouraging more people to invest in PvP which is something that just isn't happening at the moment.
...and yes, win trading is most definitely a major issue in this game. It happens with PvP just like it happens in Lords of Verminion/Triple Triad tournaments. It's disheartening to be passionate about a particular part of the game only for a select few to dominate the system through dubious means.
Do you mean put the PvP rewards in the Gold Saucer? I don't think that's a good idea. I think that PvP related rewards should remain purchasable with Wolf Marks or a form of currency purchased by wolf marks, Tokens as someone said.
As others have stated it would revive PvP and give people something to grind for while not placing a time limit and restriction on the items and the fierce competition of trying to get in the top rankings versus those who win trade and boost themselves for the highest ranking.
Considering there's no real rewards for PvP outside of rankings...Yeah it's their right to have their own exclusive stuff just as raiders and people who play in Manderville and get the Fenrir mount. The gear isn't even good in PvP, people use it all for glamour and that's it I say let the PvPers have their mount if I wasn't so focused on clearing A12S, PotD new floors and what not i'd be in PvP right now, it's my plan after to see how far I can get with my friends.
Except raid mounts don't stay exclusive once the content can be overgeared by a large margin. Neither is the Fenrir mount all that exclusive, since you'll eventually be able get it, if you save up enough MGP.Considering there's no real rewards for PvP outside of rankings...Yeah it's their right to have their own exclusive stuff just as raiders and people who play in Manderville and get the Fenrir mount. If the problem of against mount as reward is win trades, well I didn't join season 1 so I can't say
But Season2 till now, I never saw that in my 900+ matches
For "It's unfair to gate cosmetic/vanity/fun items behind something only a few people do."
Why those few ppl can't get some good reward?
If I'm the only one who don't play raids and I complain about I can't get raids mount why I can't get them in other way, ppl will say that's my problem
Yes that's my problem rather than the rewards setting caz that's me don't like it and choose to not play
Then why ppl don't play Pvp against the Pvp mount?
Why good reward for (kind of) small groups is "unfair"
I think it would be neat if SE followed the wow model for PvP seasons. You can do X amount of matches either Frontlines or the Feast and you get a cool limited edition mount. The Feast and Frontlines should each have its own season specific mounts.right now in Legion , Casual battlegrounds rewards players with a unicorn pony while the ranked battlegrounds reward a dragon mount. Recolors are added every season.

You CAN get those raid mounts even if you choose to not raid, however. That's exactly one of the points many of us are making against the PVP rewards. If you want to get raid rewards without raiding, all you have to do is wait. Raid rewards are not limited in availability and they remain obtainable at 100% droprates after the PVE season ends.
You could easily find seven people who never cleared A4S and you would all have your gobwalkers before the evening is over because of vastly overgearing the fight plus echo (I've done it myself to help others get their mounts). Alternatively, you could keep on waiting until the expansion and just duo/trio it while undersized. There are no such options for the PVP rewards, if you can't them while they're current they're gone forever, and the ranking system ensures most participants won't get them.
High end PVE rewards weren't made to be exclusive forever, only temporarily. Why should PVP rewards be? Every reward locked behind a skill or time gate in this game is made accessible to everyone over time, ensuring nothing remains rare or prestigious (which I personally dislike, but that's a discussion for a different time). Raid mounts, raid gear, raid titles, relics, crafted gear, low droprate minions/mounts, MGP rewards - everything is up for grabs for very little effort if you wait long enough. What makes PVPers deserve something that is denied to all other types of players in the game?
If the rewards were buyable with Wolf Marks a few seasons down the road, the PVP situation would be similar to the PVE one: high end players get the rewards first and everyone else gets them way later. It's a decent solution given the way the developers handle exclusive rewards in this game.
Relinking my post from the other thread since I'm pretty much just repeating myself here.
