huh? my point was that people should stop being butthurt about other's choices and what they do with their own money or time. I'm calling both sides out there in case you didn't notice. Tho forgive me if I'm taking your comment the wrong way as I have no clue what you're saying there.

Agreed I have been guilty of this, but you're totally right. If people want to spend money in the store and get items, all the power to them. If people like me don't, well we don't have to.

I have been saying that things like need to be at least both obtainable IN-GAME AND CASH SHOP.
The In-game part can be in a grind, and if need be, non-dyeable, but at least we have a way to get it by
actually playing the game...No one seems to like this idea because they smack their wallets at me and I am pushed aside.
I think asking for things in-game on it's own is just too much now. At least grinding will make us feel good
and we have something else to do besides Pony grind and stuff. Pony grinds still exist too!
But people already threw their wallets and that's mostly what SE listens to now. It took months...mooooonths for us to get
Phantasia because finally people started to say they would pay.
Those of us who try and at least find a middle ground won't win because the money speaks 100x louder.

EDIT: I'm not saying anything about overprice right now and anything.
Or how people should feel/spend their money at all. Just wanted to clarify.
I just want an options to obtain stuff in-game. That's it.

I wouldn't mind if cash shop stuff was attainable in game, but I can see the argument that this would be "pay to win" since you could literally pay money to bypass in-game accomplishments. Also I dread seeing what level of grind they'd have to add so some people would still be willing to spend $18.

It's the classic divide and conquer at play. Notice how rare it is for any official comments to be made regarding the Mog Station despite it being a frequently discussed and contested issue. Big businesses - especially those that operate largely online - often sit back knowing full well that their own consumers will argue among themselves. So threads like this end up derailed and more about who does and doesn't support the Mog Station rather than anything constructive.

Personally speaking...I have a disposable income and have bought items such as the Odin statue and every mount put on the Mog Station thus far. Despite that I'm concerned by the sheer number of items showing up on the Mog Station. It's definitely increased over time. I would much prefer many of the items to be available in-game. It feels like there's so few in-game rewards to work towards as it is- especially those that are 'mid way' between easy to obtain and a nightmarish grind.

I'd favor the idea of arguing against this, but I've witnessed the pricing that SE had done for past items as well, and I'm well aware that this marketing method is not excluded to FF14. It does put me off of buying it as well, but I feel like we'd need to truly make a strong argumentative case if we were to truly ever make something beyond a simple huff of annoyance. It's a little too set in stone to have just bringing it up be enough.

They get the price to be very high because of their incessant whining that they want it on the shop. Is it totally wrong to be against these people? I just think posters want everything on a silver platter by encouraging the cash shop. That's my opinion though. I wouldn't be against these eastern outfit items if they were at least a reasonable price.

What about the chair mount? That looks like it should have been prepared for Halloween.
Can't stop people from doing that unfortunately if that is what they want to ask for no matter what you say to them it probably won't stop them...I don't know why people immediately jump to cash shop first sometimes either.

Also blaming the players for the CS prices with no facts of why CS items are the price they are is pointless...we don't know if those players are the reason or if SE was going to price it that way to begin with. I mean we can assume anything we want but it gets us no where...the only thing we all can do is share our feedback.

Lashing out at others because they make different choices is just not good for the community (like cammi said both sides are at fault here). It is fine to be against the people who ask for things to be in cash shop if you personally do not like it, but there is a better way to respond with your disagreement about it was all I was saying (trying to make the OF less ...hostile xD ).

I wish people didn't encourage cash shop either, but as one poster said some people have more money than time irl and cannot grind things so they like some things to be in cash shop. I might not agree fully but that is a completely valid point of view that I can definitely understand. They might just be scared that something they really like will gated behind content they either cannot do or a grind wall they do not have the time to accomplish due to their lifestyle. I don't have those issues but I can see where they are coming from.

I wonder what did happen to that chair mount... I think it suits PotD but there is a mount in there already now from the gold trim sacks

Basically this. Compare this to lorebook hiccups getting a sincere apology and thank you for our support within a few days of posting, and the complaints with Cleeng's broken fanfest streams getting an immediate response and updates to the current status on bug fixes.

They very obviously know about the cash shop divisiveness, but likely know saying anything would unleash the wrath of players on one side of the argument.

Staying quiet, as Theo says, is just smarter.
