New Relic 260 Quest: Details

Several friends have picked up interest in the Relic quest as it is right now, cause of this step, only the umbrite stage is a big grind with a nerf incoming.

Tbh, this is the longest any relic stage should take. This is how the relic quest should be.

The quest said something about "working and sharing information with other people". AFAIK the last time they said this was when we had to get 2000 lights (and presumably working with others was referring to discussing what trial was in bonus every few hours). There's nothing like that in this step, so I found it weird that was included

Eh ... there's no bonus light info to share around, but there is still the "need" to do DR's : the Expert DR daily, and the Leveling DR thrice a week. "Need" in quotation marks because, well, you can skil the daily and weekly quests for the clusters and just grind Lore.

Of course, grinding Lore typically results in grouping with others, which would fall under the description of "working and sharing information with other people" ... whether or not you need to "share information" you typically spend the time "working ... with other people."

How is grinding cash any less legitimate than grinding tomestones, or grinding dungeons, or whatever else it is you have to grind? It's all a time sink, in the end. Heck, I'd wager that even at their most expensive, grinding out enough gil to pay for crafted items was STILL less time consuming than, say, grinding out Alexandrite for the ARR weapon.

You silly thing you! people don't work for gill, it is indeed LESS time consuming, when you can just buy the gill to get the items, which people do a lot of when very important items are expensive. it's not the same as grinding tomes which require you to actually PLAY the game. when you need to buy the items, some poor fool just goes off and spends his money to buy gill, then the items.

I even had this in my face first hand when i was on mumble with an old raid team and they OPENLY talked about buying gill because the items for the 3.1 relics were to expensive. and made it clear they were not alone in doing this. and even back when the ARR relics needed materia, random FC members on an old server freely admitted they buy gill to pay for the price hiked materia, This is why requiring tradable items is, and always will be a bad idea for relics at least to me. Because all it does is encourage gill buying.

So the "legitimate" thing is up for debate.

Umbrite was more time consuming i had found then sand because i use blue script for the sand mainly

Anyone can confirm if you can still take the daily/weekly quests even after complete the i260 step or not?

If we're going to bring RMT into the equation, there are businesses out there who will level your characters for you, and undoubtedly would grind tomestones for you if you paid them to. So it STILL amounts to the same thing.
