You're wrong, and SE recently demonstrated why, the much larger budget for StormBlood vs Heavensward is a good illustration that FFXIV in total is a solid revenue stream for SE, and they can afford to put the money back into the game. More $$ for premium fluff in the shop equals more $$ for development and servers. I'm not seeing anything but a benefit to the players and SE here.

FFXIV was already a solid revenue stream for SE before the cash shop. It was routinely mentioned here and in the wider gaming press that this game saved SE from some pretty dire financial predictions, games only sold more copies since then.

Base game, subscription, expansion, more subscription. Then being asked to pay again for recoloured mounts, old event items, items that already exist in other regions, and it being framed as if they're doing me a favour... Great stuff.

What a way for everyone to lose track of the point of this person's original request. Honestly, any request thread turns into a cash shop demonic cleansing ritual.

Request threads only turn into "cash shop demonic cleansing rituals" when the poster requests that new stuff should go to the cash shop. If the point of the thread had been about making the barding available, then she should have posted about that instead.

Why not just request this as a mid level leatherworker recipe? It doesn't seem like the sort of flashy that would warrant a cash shop exclusive.

Surely you must be a truly great Arcanist with such precise numbers. Why I remember talking to K'lyhia earlier today day while recovering from another arduous mission and she told me the exact same thing.

"I'm 67.4% cure this is a joke" She said she was certain of her calculations and then went into some arcane math that my poor brain could not cope with. Hopefully if it was something I was meant to understand I can wing it and she'll think it was a great stratagem.

I just assumed that she made that stuff up as she went along and then came up with the math later. Was I not supposed to be winging it that whole time?

I never said I don't want old event items and items that already exist in other regions.
I don't as it happens, I think for the most part they're a bit naff anyway, but it's the principle.

Stormblood likely wouldn't have triple the budget if no one bought cash shop items. So if you haven't. You get to reap those benefits without having paid any extra for them.

Just want to point out that this "triple budget" that people keep quoting has not been verified. No one can come up with a link to the original report about it.
