Stormblood - New Race? Yes? No?

I'm not using the forums much, but I really hope that someone from SE's team is going to take his time to read through some comments and take it as viable "feedback".
In any case, the majority of this is for a change of the character creation. The choice of having different 4 faces is so... ugh. While other MMO's have more options to choose over the characters appearance, FF14 is really - just really okay-ish. Nothing special, nothing to criticize (significantly).

I would be still happy, if we would get a new race, though. After playing and only being Miqo'te, I really want a change. As my main class being BRD, I think Miqote fits best to it. I dont know why; and everyone sure has a different opinion and taste about this, but a Roegadyn totally doesn't fit in AF gear (pretty skinny, no?). Miqo'te are - cute, sleek!, their animations/emotes are really nice as well. That's why I'm hoping for Viera. That they would be as sleek, as cute (yes!) and fit atleast into one of the jobs[with their appearance].

I'm not sure adding a new race would make much sense at this point, unless we are exploring some new continent/region (and not just another country)... Unless they want to pull the Au Ra thing where they all just suddenly show up as refugees, which, to me, was a bit weak.

I find it much more likely that with PS3 support being dropped, they expand on current character creation options. I would rather they do that, anyways.

In my opinion, they should stick with expanding the current options.

As an ex-WoW player, I am personally sick of the ugly beast/savage-like features of the majority of the races, therefore, I pray that they will NEVER add a beast tribe race or any race that deviates from the current humanoid races.

I would not mind a playable Viera race so I could get a change from hunting Lalafells.

For my own use I don't care about new races because unlike other games where I play many "alts" for difference classes, in FFXIV I mostly play all the classes on the same character. (And no I'm not into a "fantasiazing" into another race O.O)

However I do enjoy variety in PC races when roaming around, so I'm all for a new one whatever it would be and so including Viera.

We don't need a new playable race with every expansion, we got the au'ra last year, we don't need another one every year, and ffxi never added a new playable race at all.

I wouldn't mind a new playable race and it can still be on the very humanoid side, just feel the missing gaps in what we have and give them a theme and details not already used like a plant-race.

Though I think they should add more options and differences to what we already have. Like miqo'te, give sun and moon cats a few more differences, nothing crazy but what about different eyemarks, a slight different heights mi/max and especially different emotes. Elezens on their side could really use a new face option, it seems like they have only 3..

Elezen and Miqo'te suffer from such horrid same face syndrome from the fact that all of them have 2 faces that are extremely similar, but usually maintain unique noses or mouths. Basically, one face with 8 mouths instead of 2 with 4.


This doesn't touch upon the fact that every race has that one face that very few players want to use.

No thank you.
They need to update the existing races than just new hairstyles.
More new faces, maybe new body types or an actual muscle/build slider (than just some muscle definition slider), body features like tattoos, body hair and body scales for Au Ra, make the horns separate from the face types etc.

A new race would just mean more work for the devs.

I want my butt back. I want my boobs back.

Give me my butt and boobs, and I'll be happy.
