well if you read the above post, the UI disappears, removing cheating from shouting and reading the chat. Also you would only have 10 seconds to answer, making it harder to look it up.

Now I'm aware of what you have said, but I'm sure their would be ways to make is possible and mitigate cheating at the same time. I'm not a game dev so i don't know, but i think its worth looking into at least.

Of course players would gather the right answers online, just like with any other information about the game.
But since the time is not long enough to look them up, you'll have to go through the answers beforehand and remember them - which is in no way different from remembering lore in the first place

It would at least be an encouraging way to get people into/interested in FFXIV lore. Thank you for your support on this idea ^^

It would also be a cool way to get bits from the lore book into the game very easily, and it would make the lore book a nice research book. Things like "What to moogles eat?"

It would be a good use of it yes, but usually the Ragtimer asks yes or no questions, but they could alter that if they wanted to.
