So if someone starts the fight early, forcing some players to be locked out through no fault of their own, then the locked-out players shouldn't be able to roll for rewards?

It seems like that would just encourage people to lock others out so that they have fewer people to roll against.

Unexpected things irl can happen too. Doorbells, someone hollering for something, kids if a person has them. Someone's stretch of free time to play a game might not always be 100% perfect.

This is what people say when they miss the DF queue, except that you get locked out after 3 fails. Maybe people need to get locked out of loot after a fail or two then.

Just adding this. I once had two people in a party get locked out of a boss fight because tank decided to tank the boss right at the entrance. It's butt was sticking out of the entrance so two meelee DPS were locked out. This was in T3 (or T2, the one with circle bosses).

I have had tanks sprint off and pull without waiting for anybody or anyone. It's not fun on either side of needing to finish the fight with less people or to just get locked out because you got distracted for 15 seconds.

Or the person joined and in progress run. I've seen, "Wait for X's tank/healer please...and you pulled...and they're locked out" happen a lot.
