Sounds good to me.

Those are nasty, lmao... I've seen some really nice MMO wings that don't sparkle like some 12 year old's cartoon fantasy though...
I don't think developers actually know what a bird's wing looks like half of the time when they conceive these ideas at the very least.
What a dev team thinks a wing looks like;
What it actually looks like;
The wings would probably look a lot better if they didn't make them fluffy and actually went for long elegant feathers, lmao.
When I said animated I didn't mean moving constantly, I meant that they should have some kind of joint that allowed them to at least stretch open when you're idle, or maybe even responded to an emote that made them spread out / up. Would have looked nice if you macro'd it into a rez command, lol.
Healers should get healing effects like that in general to spice up their animation scheme a little. You rez someone, or use your large heal (such as benedict) and for maybe 5 seconds after you have some nice wings, like the ones you get when you use the Magicked Prism (Wings.)

They just make what sells the most and people are drawn to fluffy angel-like wings rather than looking like a bird, and I'd guess they didn't want them animated as they're a one time item. Other developers like to throw in wings constantly with different variets, but I figure they're all using the same skeleton so the animations work across the board. It also wouldn't make sense for them to move at all really, considering they're a prop attached to an outfit. Wings are going to look subpar in FFXIV due to everything being low detailed, they look decent in other SP titles like DS3 (NPC mob, not the PC) but the visuals of that title are leagues ahead of FFXIV.

That might because Naturally wings ona humanoid figure are...unatural to begin with. Which is why the concept originaed with supernatural beings. The Greek first used this with the Sirens and the Harpies, but they are usualy birdlike in their extremities as well (talons and clows isntead of arms and legs for example). Then came the Renaissance era where painters decided to interpret the Angels that serve Gof this way, retaining only the wings. The problem is that the more a concept pops up, the more diluted it is (see: the comment about winged character being cliche earlier in the thread). I don;t think the Greeks or Renaissance painters do not think wings look like that first picture you posted.
It is form that we get out conception of Angels from, and with it the power fantasy of being like those that are second to God in terms of power or divinity, and also why these particular wings tend to pop up a lot in stories.
What does it matter? Not like your going to have the ability to wear them lol.
I was thinking that... I dunno why people are upset that they've implemented the wings when, unless you're Chinese, you wont see them.
That being said... Can you log the Chinese mogstation and buy them for your character outside of China? I've never actually tried.

Negatory, the systems are entirely separate. Tried this a while back.
People are upset they implemented them because now everyone is gonna whine that there shouldn't be region exclusives. Those that don't want them don't want them and the ones who do are going to be annoying as hell with the whining. Then they will be put on the mogshop for inflated prices and then there will be more whining about the price even though they demanded it come to the west.
