right? i mean its just like joining a mega linkshell, worst part is everytime you log in as a mentor it tells you stuff like "do a playersearch and nivite all the leafs you can find" not even lying i find that odd. Also i think the hall of the novice should have a record book or something that lets novices willfully join without needing a mentor to invite them instead against their will, and at the least retalking to npc/book would let them leave without removing their status in case they want to come back

I completely agree that it should allow you to accept or decline invitations. And after you're in the network, you should be able to leave if you don't like it, without having to remove your status. It's an absolutely horrible design as-is, forcing new players (who may not know how to turn it off) into a channel they haven't asked for and even taking over their chat output channel against their will.

However, as to the concern that you might want to come back another time, they did at least make removing the New Adventurer status reversible (which it wasn't at first). As long as you still meet the New Adventurer requirements (either under 168 hours, or still in ARR), you can turn your New Adventurer status back on again.

Yoshi P already stated why it doesn't ask for confirmation.

With the idea of displaying a confirmation window when the beginners receive an invite, there may be cases where new players don’t understand what the notice means, or where it can become a hassle if confirmation windows are constantly popping up because of mentor invites. With these cases in mind, we’ll continue to monitor the situation before we decide to make adjustments.

Well, their monitoring of the situation should include monitoring the fact that a significant number of of players are outraged at being forced into it against their will and having their chat output hijacked.

(And it can only turn into a bunch of confirmations popping up if players are turning down the invites, which indicates that putting them in the network they're trying to stay out of is the exact opposite of a solution. For that issue, a character setting to automatically decline would be the fix.)
