Haha, LoTA she was doing this!? Dang, you hardly need to heal in that raid. You forgot the most important situation:
The entire party at full health? Medica II x2 (I wish I was kidding)
I will never forget the day I happened upon a medica II spammer in LotA. She could have taught the tanks a thing or two about holding aggro. Also, it was the first and only time I have deliberately left my co-healer dead on the floor (she ran out of mp) while I slooooowly walked toward the exit and left the instance.

A run on AK Hard when I was leveling my Warrior on level 50 roulette, clearly saying I played it 1st time synced. Shortly after we started, our SMN pulled every single trash mob, going ham on every mob so I was unable to get aggro, getting out of TP and even out of MP from Flash cross-skill. (Consider was on tank stance, but every single time I was about to manage to get aggro, SMN decided to pull more mobs and going ham on those I was about to take).
Then I ask for strategy at bosses. Guess what? Ignored.
Only to end up after the dungeon the SMN told me to kill myself and to stop ever playing again because I ''suck'' at my job.
Not going to say names, all I say he seems to be on the same server as I am and became the 1st player ever to get blacklisted.
People like this are willing me to become that kind of tank of ''If you steal my aggro, you keep it.''

Spamming trial roulette for new player bonuses on summoner
Get nidhogg story trial, I generally enjoy this one. New player bonus so yay, new tank and later on found out one of the healers was new as well, but ... right off the bat the new tank runs in and pulls the boss, he's very poorly geared, I'm sure he was the minimum ilvl which was 205, honestly it felt like he was lower than that, either way it was a nightmare, everyone started pulling hate all over the place and nidhogg cleaved everyone so it was a wipe. We ask our other tank to MT as we respawn in but right as we do the new tank quickly bails, sometimes I wonder ....
Next part was even more interesting, so we sit there for a few and chat, than we ask if we can get a new tank, our un-new healer who was the party leader said the same thing, that they wanted another tank, but ... they were the party leader and they weren't recruiting anyone, we asked them to but nothing. Than after a couple of minutes they leave as well ... ok ... soooo luckily the leader gets passed on to the tank who was still with us and they start recruiting, we fill in our missing healer and tank spot, new player bonus was still on thanks to the other healer.
Run is going smooth till we get to the second and last phase of nidhogg, new healer caked it on the second phase but they got rezzed, we move into the third and final phase and things are going ok until the new healer gets targeted with nidhoggs shared aoe attack, they start running away from everyone and everyone was chasing after them *que benny hill theme*. So we go chasing after the healer but all decide to run away after we realize it's to late, -boom- healers dead ... aaaaand since everyone is kind of spread out since we were chasing the healer we started getting solo nuked until the few of us got back in together, but both of our healers died in the process. I'm desperately trying to keep my hp up and it dips down to about 2k, was using leeches to survive the nukes, after the nukes stopped I quickly throw out a swiftcast rez to our un-new healer right before nidhogg aoe roars and I drop dead, they rez up and we have a tank who's just about to go down as well but we had LB3, rezzed healer immediately popped it and we all come back, finish beating down nidhogg and avoid a wipe.
What a roller coaster.

Wow. That should be reported really. Telling someone to kill themselves (over a freaking game of all things) is just all kinds of wrong.Only to end up after the dungeon the SMN told me to kill myself and to stop ever playing again because I ''suck'' at my job.
Not going to say names, all I say he seems to be on the same server as I am and became the 1st player ever to get blacklisted.

Report that player to a GM. Especially since he actually told you to go kill yourself. First of all, no one should ever say something like that ever to an individual. Second, no one should be allowed to get away with that type of behavior. And third, I know this is an online game people play with strangers, but why can't people just have some sense on common courtesy? Explaining strategies for the bosses in Amdapor Hard takes all of like 15 seconds. If even that. But no, seriously. Report them to a GM. They can go back and see the chat logs from the instance, and should take action against that player.
With regards to the tanking style: I am that tank. When I tank, I pull at my pace. Not anyone else's (unless the healer is undergeared, then I will only pull as much as they can handle, and maybe a little less to allow them to DPS a little, if they so choose). If anyone runs ahead and tries to bring me presents in the form of more trash, I let them keep them. I will do nothing to take it off them. They usually seem to stop after I let the die. So it's not a bad tank style to go with. ;p
When you tank, you're the leader of the party. You take instances at your own pace and do what you are comfortable with. Don't let anyone (DPS, healer, or even the other tank if you're in an 8-man/24-man) dictate what you decide to do in a duty. Especially if you aren't comfortable with larger pulls, or riskier tanking (i.e., dropping tank stance).

For making that insult and throwing a kick cause of one mistake. OH I guess you're perfect right? So noone is allowed a mistake ever, everyone MUST be perfect? Thats why his attitude was horrible and I'm glad he was reported. Like seriously? It's not like the person said - F you tank I do what I want- He snapped at her and kicked her for a tiny oops. It wasn't needed and if you're that picky over one tiny mistake then damn son. RELAX!What'd he do wrong? She made the mistake, he called her on it (any DPS knows not to touch the Qarn heads until they're positioned). They're just too squishy to be fighting over hate, unlike other mobs where it is "eh, whatever". Sorry but, if I was in his position and had a DPS get snarky when they messed up... I'd kick em too. Besides him going "good job, kuppo!" I can't see where the tank is in the wrong or how he's crying like a baby.
Had a... think its Praetorium run earlier. The boss with the claws, tank insisted on tanking in the elctro goop.

What makes me laugh the most in this thread is that it's somehow always someone else's fault
Quite a while ago, when Alex Midas was still new, I went in blind. During the boss fight I saw some people turn into a gorilla. Now, being a huge gorilla fan, the moment I noticed how people were turning into a gorilla, I just had to do it as well. People saw I went gorilla, and expected me to know what to do, however I was just running and jumping around, just being happy to be a gorilla.
Shortly thereafter, the entire party got blown to bits by the bombs
(Of course, I was with friends, who know I love gorillas, so it was all good)
Wife and I got Chrysalis for trial roulette last night. One of the casters used the limit break at two bars, and it set off a caterwauling of despair from a tank, given his "its a wipe. someone wasted the LB" comment. The ninja, who must have been lusting after their apparently certain use of it, chimed in with "who tf used limit break?" Yeah, We cleared the trial on that very first attempt, totally a wipe, guys, and I regret very much that the whiners who were ready to give up from a perceived mistake supposedly dooming us all scurried out of the instance before I could post my sarcastic "yeah, it's a wipe, all right." I feel sorry for the newbie who had to deal with that defeatism.

Ah yeah, I reported him right after the dungeon and seemingly he was offline for 3-4 weeks after that. I will also never understand he is a mentor to begin with.Report that player to a GM. Especially since he actually told you to go kill yourself. First of all, no one should ever say something like that ever to an individual. Second, no one should be allowed to get away with that type of behavior. And third, I know this is an online game people play with strangers, but why can't people just have some sense on common courtesy? Did we read the same story... She snapped at him worse than he did her (and basically said that): "Well a tank synced to level 37 that loses agro on adds to level 35 Bard ... What is your level again?" Yes mistakes happen, but when you make a tank's job more difficult than necessary and then pin it on them?
Had an odd AK run within the last hour. Tank was new, i90 gear and taking the pulls slowly. No problem, except the WHM in full i250 crafted would run to grab more mobs and it would get chaotic. At the last boss however, the WHM realized the tank was new (probably missed the tome bonus message) and apologized :O One of the few times I've seen someone eager for big pulls go "oh crap, you're new!? I'm so sorry". Restored some faith in humanity.
