    Ok, not your idea precisely.
But the whole "We should be able to start Stormblood rigth away" surely is. And let's be honest, most of the MSQ is not fluffy cutscenes.
People see it like that probably because some patches didn't have much more to offer, without realizing that only counted for less than 1 hour of MSQ.

If they find the early game too boring, I wonder how they'll like doing the same content over and over and over at endgame

Your guess is as good as mine. I suspect it has to do with the fact that many of the classes (and Jobs) in the early game feel somewhat clunky due to the lack of skills and rotations, so although the story is decent enough to follow, the gameplay is dull and doesn't add anything to the mix. I tend not to mind the same roulettes over and over if I at least find my Job to be fun to play (which I do, because I main DRK ).

Anyone who is classifed as an RPGer knows full well all leveling based games start off slow and boring, you start off with basic, boring skills you'll spam nonestop till you level up to start getting the good stuff, if they are put off by early game then they aren't rpgers, they are just looking for something to waste their time.

because it's not the same. people can go and play basketball everyday but those same people can't stand there and take 5000 shots to improve their shooting.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe they started off with a bias towards disliking the game, I don't know. One was a WoW player so that might have something to do with it. My point was, reducing the barrier to entry juuuuuust a little bit might not be so bad for people coming on board for 4.0.

Yoshida-Sama? You lost me right there. This is neither Japan or an anime high school. Unless you are a Japanese person really hung on tradition, you can just call him Youshi like the rest of us do.

If you are a traditionally minded Japanese person or a student at Fight-O High School, them I apologize but am wondering why you are on an english forum.

Just because that's the norm, doesn't make that a good thing. SE should endeavor to make the game fun at all levels.

Yes, the gameplay is very limited but you gain something new to play with around every two levels. And you have everything to discover.

If it has become the norm, it's because it works. And if businessmen react like MMO players, it's probably the most profitable way of doing things when you consider dev cost vs profits.
