I think you answered your own question of where I got it from. Though it seems I was mistaken. I just assumed it was a military title since a military commander was using it, and another military commander using it had the rank "High Legatus". Circumstantial evidence. Hadn't looked at the Garlean rank chart recently.

I wonder if royal titles always supersede military. He would be Zenos Yae Galvus regardless of his rank. Yae is a prestigious title. I wonder if someone of the less prestigious, but still royal, Wir title would go by Wir, or Van, upon obtaining the legatus rank.

For those who still think the moves are "dancer", you can look up a few videos on youtube on Chinese Martial Arts.
    You might see something familiar.

MNK is based on it, from the moves to the AF.

If you ask me, making mnk the choice job for this patch might be a marketing effort to push subscriptions in China, given the recent launch there.
But I highly doubt they will add a 2nd job with similar cultural origins so quickly.

On the trailer, really interested to finally see some of Gyr Albania. It looks a bit more arid than I expected, however I'll doubt if that holds true through the entire expansion considering the variety we saw in Heavensward areas. I'm not entirely sure if the Hyur in red is a dancer or a monk and I could certainly see it going either way and I certainly won't be upset if we get dancer as one of the Jobs this expansion.

It also makes me feel good as a Monk main to see a monk/two monks shaking an entire city as a side effect of a light spar. One of my favorite thing about the class is the over the top DBZ lore so seeing that animated is just yes plz for me.

I'd say royal titles are ehead of military titles. In fact I'd guess nobles get military ranks simply because they are nobles. Nael also belonged to House Darnus, and I wouldn't be surprised if Baelsar and Hydrus turned out to be noble houses as well.

Expansion. Not patch. A bit of chinese influence might be a part of it but we have known the monk-Ala Mhigo connection for years so I think it was given. And oddly enough what we have seen of Gyr Abania reminds me more of India than China.

The way the refugees look I was sure Gyr Abania would mostly be a desert and was pleasantly surprised by all the waterfalls and that dark forest. Of course that might be the very end of the Black Shroud.

Everyone seems convinced we'll have Red Mage and Blue Mage. While I'm not against it, I'm also a little wary. I always pictured Blue Mage as coming from Radz-at-han for some reason. As for Red Mage, I'm very wary there, as I feel it should be as important as both White Mage and Black Mage, but has not yet been revealed to have anything to do with the ancient nations from the War of the Magi. I was rather hoping it might be a kind of elite Sharlayan job derived from White and Black Magic that scholars unearthed over the centuries.

Seeing either or both immersed in Ala Mhigan lore would just feel like a let down for me, particularly as Ala Mhigo doesn't have any particularly strong magical background.

Ala Mhigo's patron deity is Rhalgr the Destroyer, arguably the god with the most (destructive) magical potential.

Red Magic could be (possibly) a special art taught to old-school Ala Mhigan soldier-mages, letting them pull off all-rounder performances on the battlefield. Ala Mhigans strike me as the practical type, and rudimentary conjury and thaumaturgy cannot be terribly difficult to pick up.

That said, there is nothing that says a new Job has to be rooted in the culture of the region we're headed to. Alisae is heavily implied to be a Red Mage, but she's never set foot in Ala Mhigo. Despite being based in Ishgard, Astrologian is much more Sharlayan in flavor than Ishgardian.

True, and right now that's more my hope, that Red/Blue Mage will come from other regions.

As for Rhalgr, that'd work fine for Black Mages being the Masters of Destruction, but Red Mages are Jacks of All Trades, Masters of None. Ala Mhigo never had any strong magical history linked to it. I'd hate to see any of the iconic mage classes shoehorned into it.

While it remains to see how it'll be implemented, Red Mage is practically confirmed (I'm not sure where people are getting Blue Mage from) - I can't think of any other way to interpret Yoshida's "job tease" shirt (Scarlet Witch).

It's worth noting that the Heavensward Jobs all took the chance to expand on various aspects of Ishgardian lore, so even if Red Mage and the other new Jobs are connected to Ala Mhigo (they might not be!), it's not so unlikely that they'd be so in a way that introduces some new aspect of life in Gyr Abania.

Everyone trying to read hidden signs in the trailer when their are none. The girl is most likely Yda and simply cause she does a few twirls doesn't mean she is a dancer. All we got in the trailer is that the warrior of light is now a monk. For all we know, Yoshida could surprise us and say that geomancer is the new job.

After some reconsideration, I think it is reasonably safe to say the woman in the trailer is just another Monk. Having a red aura instead of a blue one like Derplander doesn't necessarily mean anything, and leaving out her red clothing she fights just like him. Call her "dancing" a warm-up.

She's not likely to be Yda, since she lacks Yda's neck tattoos. It's been revealed (somewhere? In the Lore Book?) that Yda has a sister, so she's now the most likely suspect.

As for what they're going to add... still up in the air. Red Mage has been heavily implied many times and many ways; beyond that one can only guess. I'm personally hoping for Viking in some capacity just because it'll be so out of left field and I'd like to see what they can do with it, but that's just my personal wish. Anything else I'm pretty apathetic about (even Red Mage, because while iconic it's not that great of a class in most games. Starts strong but putters out by mid-game).
