im with you i wnted the jobs in hw to start at 1 but its pretty apparent jobs start at30 no matter how weird or realistic that sounds to some, so thats why i say 30. To be hinest with a level cap increase supposedly, i wouldnt be surprised i the new ones start at 40In my personally opinion, the jobs should start at level 1, which also should have been the case for the Heavensward jobs. However, in terms of what will probably happen, it's safe to expect that the new jobs will start at level 30 since that is what Heavensward has established.
If anyone is wondering why I think that the jobs should start at level 1 as opposed to level 30 because "that's when all jobs start" it is for a very simple reason. Speaking in the context of pre-Heavensward, it is indeed true that jobs began at level 30, but it was also true that when beginning your training with a new weapon type (or skill set) you did so from level 1. Heavensward broke that rule, letting players jump straight to level 30 with an unfamiliar weapon. If that rule is one that can be broken then so can the rule about jobs starting at level 30.
I personally think some of classes might start at 60 if u have example monk lvl 60.
sort of like arc share whit sum and sch.
Depends on how they do 60-70...
If it's going to be like HW where 1 level more or less is equal to 2 levels at 1-50...
I think starting at 50 could work for the new jobs, they'd need to go through techincally 40 levels, the same that HW jobs needed to reach the current max.
Going through the lower levels can be somewhat annoying, and the classes change as they level so you don't even properly learn it while leveling so there's little benefit from a low level start.
Depends how they do the unlocking. I don't think they are going to have classes so minimum will probably be 30. To help new players out I would rather they unlock at the level they start, so new players would be able to jump into the job they want to play seamlessly and continue leveling instead of having to level to 50/60, then feeling like you deleveled to 30 and are missing all the quests that help you level.
The queues would end up even more backed up because missing quests to level everyone will just queue in DF (which returning players will have to do regardless unless they want to do FATEs forever).
It won't matter too much I suppose as they will probably boost the armoury bonus again for 1-50 and 51-60 but people being stuck leveling a job they don't want to play to get to a job they do want to play probably doesn't feel that great.
1, as a base class.
I didn't like jumping straight to 30 with job crystals already on hand with the HW jobs.

They SHOULD start at level 1, as should have DRK, MCH, and AST. I can understand why they didn't though; all those extra job quests would have been a nightmare to implement, given how overworked they were as it was. So they'll likely start at 30, as those jobs did.
Lvl 1 just like it was in 2.0. 3.0 changed this by just having jobs and starting them at 30 which to me is stupid. Its an RPG you always start the journey from the beginning. We are taking on new roles that technically ingame we know nothing about or have experienced why should we start it past lvl 1 and just magically have skills pop up on our bar?
Yes, SMN and SCH shared the same lvl growth and that was an odd choice and luckily didn't happen for any other 2.0 classes. It was weird getting SMN to 50 and then going back to do all the SCH quests. Wasn't a fan. (only my opinion)
I think 30 is a safe point, doesn't really matter what job it is they will still have the core skills that we can relate back to older jobs. A new healer will still have its Emergency heal, Aoe, Cure and Cure 2 equivalent. Tanks will have their basic hate rotation as will dps for dots and basic combos, all skills that by the time you get to the new expansion should be second nature to most.
I would've liked the previous jobs to have started at 1, jumping in at 30 with a bunch of unfamiliar skills made it harder to learn to play.
Hopefully new jobs don't start any higher than 30.
