Not entirely true. Are you forgetting that battle system will get reworked? It is possible that monk will kick more. And this is a movie, you don't need to follow monk skills at max detail but movie give more freedom than in-game animations.it's yda, but i doubt she is monk or red mage
all her move set don't match the monk style, more a dancer like. in the CG her movement are fluid and smooth, when monk in game are more about hard hitting attack than smooth movement. plus she have tons of kick, when monk (the midlander) is mostly fist. (fist of rahgr after all) she too use some attack with her clothes that look like dancer move.
the trouble is the monk that fight the red lady, is using the moveset of the actual monk.
and is not like a rework, is litterally a new fighting style*monk are mostly based on move like karate and such, quite straightforward and hard hitting
while the red lady move are more like kung fu smooth and fluid. same after the monk do the charge, she do her type of charge and the move is different too totally. finally an important part, the monk are often called the fist of Rahgr not the feet haha (joking on this one)
we can argue that it's a more female type of fighting, but we know that ingame they don't make move based on sex! then since it soo much different we can argue that it's a hint to a new class. the trouble is they can't really tell us it this without spoil the reveal of the next fan fest or the 3.5.
an important point about yda and the fact she is monk. thancred until the add of the ninja was called bard, even if all he was doing was throwing dagger. then yda can perfectly use monk moveset instead of her true jobs. especially since she is secretive about who she are.
