^they just need to scratch that dps itch feeling lol
Tell them to party together and go to dungeon in undersize, that should help =P

Sch has lowest DPS potential but is ideal for dpsing because of their mana pool and pet, so no surprise there. Was in an Alex 10 earlier and the 2 healers were in cleric and both were refusing to heal because they both didn't feel like healing lol. We ended up - vote abandoning because the healers would not heal they just wanted to be in Cleric.
They were AST SCH. The ast actually did better dps then the sch until tank died lol
TBH nothing is more fun on SCH with an aggressive SCH coheal. You get to the end and you not only healed 1.5x more than them, but also out Dpsed them by 30%, on top of using ogcd mitigation. :] It's pretty fun being the main and off healer.
Just went for DF levelling my DRG alt and this one healer is one solid example of "iam a healer, i will do nothing but heal only"
Now iam not against "100% heal only" but in low level dungeon? (Tam tara normal) you dont even have CS yet so all you need is click that button, this healer is not lazy because the whole time she keep doing emoticon like "sit" "thumbs up" "dance" etc but have no time to click 1 dot skill which should be an instant skill?
I can understand if it level 60 dungeon or boss fight or trial like alexander stuff but this?
Another case of healers choosing to be bad :P

Low levels are a bit more lenient. Especially if that person is new to the game which is tam-tara friendly. But also some people might be doing it to relax. which you can auto-heal and eat. Not saying its the best but low level dungeons - ehh to me is okay to heal and derp. but depend on the person. I would dps personally. lolJust went for DF levelling my DRG alt and this one healer is one solid example of "iam a healer, i will do nothing but heal only"

I'll keep that in mind when I do low level stuff as Black Mage. It's okay to just Scathe a couple times every ten seconds, just relaxing. ;3

Except your role is dps. So that is what you should be doing. Healer job is to heal. If healing is required, so it should be done. The dps from a healer is a bonus.
I'm just about to hit 60 and in all my dungeon crawls, I've never been in a situation that is described where there isn't anything to do. Someone always needs heals or a shield. Soon as I click cleric stance, I have to turn it off to heal.
This is ultimately the part of mmos that I despise. Sure healers can contribute when it is necessary. But people often rather spend time worrying about the 3 seconds I could dps than keeping the party alive, moving, and buffed... or perhaps maximizing their own potential. This sort of attitude burns people out.
One cure per ten seconds is all that is necessary in low level content. With two scathes, I'm pressing more buttons than a 0 DPS healer in sastasha. It's not about the label our jobs have, it's about how much effort the players are putting in, and a lot of healers just don't put in any.Except your role is dps. So that is what you should be doing. Once you hit 60 especially, this will be something you'll get used to and better at. Rate of damage taken and upcoming mechanics are what controls you as a healer, not current HP.
