This game is made to reward mediocrity, there's no point for a rating system when 90% of the players are not qualified or don't care about it.

Hmm, I think a detailed statistical breakdown presented at the end of a duty, only AFTER you zone out, with names partially omitted maybe could be good. It'll be too late for most groups to complain loudly at one another, but it might be enough to spark some drive to improve in players when they see how poorly they did compared to someone else. I know seeing myself do poorly tends to light the proverbial fire under my ass.
is there even such a thing as a speed run any more? When it's fairly easy for any semi-competent team to pull all mobs up to the next barrier and just aoe them down, I don't consider this speed running
pulling one mob/pack at a time is painfully slow

grading system in FFXIV DF. talk about waste of time and resources. o.O
as long as newbros are required to que up in DF, this idea is bad.

Could we just have a ranking system ?
We're supposed to have that for Palace of the Dead in 3.45, we already have that for Free Compagnies, why couldn't we have that for single characters, just hidden to other players ?
There wouldn't be any penalty tied to your rank, just higher rewards as you progress.
This could be a salary, in gils or GC seals for example, there could be achievements for attaining higher ranks, mounts, minions, etc...
You mistake "reward" and "not punish".

Wrong, you can be totally competent and not be able to speed run dungeons effectivly/safely due to gear.
I'd like to see a "semi-compentent" progress group in progress gear pull off what you suggest without any issues.
Orly? I have yet to see what rewards people get for being bad.

Perfectly fine to do it with ilv210 gear in the new dungeons. The only thing is that the healer will have a little less time to DPS.
In my opinion can't really force anything. Not everyone is good at mmos. We were all newbies once. Making mistakes and all. The game is clearly to have fun. Not to bash our heads against eachother.
Rating system would be really waste of time and effort of resources. Would want SE to work and focus on important parts of the game.

Yet they created Lords of Verminion. You do know the rating system is already in the game but just in PvP? It wouldn't waste that much time just adding it to dungeons. In my opinion can't really force anything. Not everyone is good at mmos. We were all newbies once. Making mistakes and all. Indeed, you can't force anyone to be good. But telling them "Hey, if you improve, you'll gain more Xp, gils, seals, or other type of personal rewards" is very different for forcing them.
