I've been gone for a while, but I remember being excited for the dx11 update bringing the 1.0 quality textures back if you wanted them. Downloaded the dx11 client yesterday and... where the hell are they?

"Which pet do you want, Red Sticks, Chicken Nuggets or Abomination Parrot? None, get out of here with that s***." ~Samuraiking

This was never a thing to my knowledge.

Yeah that was always just a fan hope that got spread around too far
That was never promised and doubt they ever will do that cause yoshi-p even said one time pretty much called out that too much effort was spent on graphics in 1.0

Maybe we'll get them in the upcoming expansion, I just hope they won't come up with some upscaled textures like they've been doing for older games, that would solve nothing!...
What we need is a true 4K texture pack and of course 4K models to go with them but that may be too much for SE to spend money into so they might just decide to make a whole new FF Online and kill FFXIV at once instead!...![]()
Keep dreaming. It won't happen anytime soon.Maybe we'll get them in the upcoming expansion, I just hope they won't come up with some upscaled textures like they've been doing for older games, that would solve nothing!...

Providing up-scaled textures for a single player RPG is considerably different than it would be for a MMORPG with over 100 individual assets showing up on the screen at once. Also, I don't imagine we will ever see an MMO in the near future using 4k models. As for DX11, it was an engine update so that it would run better on newer computers and utilize some features such as god rays.Maybe we'll get them in the upcoming expansion, I just hope they won't come up with some upscaled textures like they've been doing for older games, that would solve nothing!...

Look! Fresh meat.
Personally, I don't need high res texture packs. I'd be fine with medium res. It's sad how bad some of the stuff is right now

Look at the ground, rocks and plants in all those pictures :\ Yay max settings at 1440p!

I still dont understand what happened to the ground in DX11.. it reminds me of those old lenticular cards we had as sicks.. Sometimes makes me a lil sick when im flying around. I ended up going back to DX9 cause of itPersonally, I don't need high res texture packs. I'd be fine with medium res. It's sad how bad some of the stuff is right now

If you have issues with the melting mountain syndrom turn your Parallax Occlusion down to normal. It works terribly with the low rez textures in the game. If we had better textures the occlusion would work better. Until we get better Textures the Occlusion will give you these nightmares.
