Which is why I decline anything that costs money from someone else besides my bf. It's not wise to start buying tons of things for some person on the internet. Male/Female doesn't matter. There are lots of female players out there who can/will easily take advantage of people using their gender.. Sucks it works out that way.
Then you have the trap marriages when one person buys both platinum bands then guilts the partner if it doesn't work out the way they want. <----- Beware this!!!
It's not wise if done for the wrong reason. I've experienced in other MMO, players who were indirectly offering money to other guildmates, sometimes by offering them Cash Shop items or offering them Time-subscription cards.
They did it simply because they enjoyed the other members and just wanted to make nice gifts and I guess because they could easily afford it. There was nothing more involved, no "buying a flirt" or no "flirting for gifts" and such, and not based on supposed gender.
If you decide to offer RL stuff to a person who you only know thru his/her player character, you should be aware than in RL, that person might not be what he/she pretends. You will take less "risks" by offering them gift if you want for how they behave in game and not for how you assume they are life.
If you accept gifts, and there is nothing wrong about that, it does not mean you're indebted to the person who offered them to you. If that donator starts behaving inappropriatly towards you then feel free to ignore him.
Also: Anyone willing to invite me to their wedding on the Moogle(EU) server. I promise I won't eat any present lalafell! If you do, please send the invitation to "Cait Zilla".![]()
